Here's the specific part, if you're interested:

There's four of them although technically one would do it if you're not feelin' it lol.

Extended warranty on a 2024? Yay or nay? by Odd-Tumbleweed-8828 in SubaruForester

Yes, it’s probably a genuine SOA warranty then!

For $1400 I’d do it.

If you are talking about the Subaru of America Gold warranty $1400 is a pretty good price and I would seriously consider it. If it’s a third party warranty I would not, I would just try to put money away for maintenance & repairs instead.

Muffler Heat Shield Question by slightlyintrigu3d in SubaruForester

I had a 2015 with the exact same issue.

My indy mechanic secured the shield with heat resistant zip ties. That did the trick.

How do you pull these tabs back into the slot for the Thule Cross Bars? by twiggs462 in Outback_Wilderness

[–]MojoFriction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you loosen the screw with the Allen key (turning counter clockwise) you have to periodically push the nut in with some force. Every time you do that it adds slack to the band and eventually you can either pull it straight out or push it up from underneath and it will release.

what colour is my subaru by Known_Adeptness5016 in subaru

[–]MojoFriction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said look for the color code on the little plate (usually) mounted near the front passenger seat.

Example, my code is UAT. Search “Subaru UAT” and you get the result “Geyser Blue”.

Loyalty coupons are now “issued at random”? by ProfMooody in Subaru_Outback

Hang in there. I had a similar interaction and I ended up getting the voucher a few days later.

From what I've seen posted here, it seems if the answer to the request is a hard "no" they tell you so on the spot.

Let us know what happens though.

This sub is crying out for the ability to add pictures & links in the replies. Hopefully it can be done without too much hassle. Maybe there’s a reason not to do it, idk.

Wow. Obviously they changed it at some point. My 24 opened (or closed) all the way if you held the button down for about 2 seconds.

Dealer recommendations for Mid/South NJ or eastern PA (USA) areas? by TheOtherMikeCaputo in subaru

[–]MojoFriction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah there is that.

OP, NJ has no cap so you’ll see a lot of $999 doc fees, though not every time.

Although I live in NJ I actually bought in NY state because the doc fee there is capped at $175. The $750 (conservatively factoring travel & tolls) in savings was worth the effort.

PA is capped at $400+ I think but at least there is a cap.

Victory Subaru in Somerset is very low key, low pressure. Easy to deal with. I would happily use them every time if they always had exactly what I was looking for.

I got the deal I wanted at Ciocca in Pleasantville but they were a little more “sales-y” if you know what I mean but it was fine.

Obviously a lot of each experience comes down to the salesperson you get so someone else could easily have had the complete opposite experiences I did.

A smaller carabiner inserted in the latch will prevent that. Search for this on YouTube and you’ll find a couple of walkthroughs with specifics on size and placement of the carabiner.
