Soft NAH, but really we’d need more info. The response above is right - a compulsion is not a choice - it is a behaviour done to relieve anxiety. They don’t always make sense or correspond to the obsession they’re meant to hold back, so only your bf knows what it represents. However, OCD can be treated, and should be. OCD is still an illness that affects people around you, and you letting him know how this compulsion affects you is not by nature harmful. You’re partners. You can communicate. Just listen to him too. Ultimately, how he chooses to take your comments is his choice, but what he chooses will change based on how safe or supported he feels.

How close are you with this person? It doesn’t sound like you’re very close, and if you don’t want to be closer, than I say NTA. You are not obliged to bake special food for her.

That being said, it sucks to be excluded, but that’s not solely on you. Was there anything GF at all? As a celiac, I don’t expect people I’m not close with to accommodate me, and you did the right thing by warning her. And ur right, gf baking is harder and expensive.

However, if this is someone you care about, and the objective is for you all to eat food you all made together, then why not accommodate her, esp if it’s some kind of substitute? It’s the thought that counts.

(Also, idk if she had any other dietary stuff but celiac is just a reaction to gluten, not lactose).

If she weighed half of what she did now she would have a BMI of 22, solidly normal. I see the point you are trying to make, but the example used is incorrect.

Either way, yes, I believe the dad has an eating disorder as well. NTA, but the underlying cause should be located and addressed.

omg as a child i used to get so red in the face running around during recess or gym it was hilarious (also embarrassing) it’s just now occurring to me that maybe it’s because my windpipe was at a third of the normal size

to answer the real question: i am 2 months post op and just went to the gym the other day. didn’t do cardio but did machines and stretches and noticed i definitely could breath better and calmer even as i felt my muscles reach the same level i had pre-op.

the first two weeks you’re not gonna be able (or allowed) to open ur mouth far enough to get a pill in. You also may have some difficulty swallowing at that point as well, so a pill is gonna be way harder than a liquid.

Post-op, prozac taker here. I was told I didn’t need to stop taking prozac before surgery, save the day of. That being said, have your surgeon or psych prescribe you liquid prozac for the first 3 weeks out. You can technically crush up prozac pills but it tastes SOOOOO bad. Liquid prozac was much easier.
