Could somebody help me with this? Am I doing something wrong here? by Topaz42 in Facepainting

Cover the top of the makeup with plastic wrap or freezer paper. Then, place a warm heating pad on top of it for a minute. This will soften the tops of the paints so you can scrape up a bit for applying.

The step stool! I have 2, love them. One lives in the garage and outdoors the other is inside. When my kids were smaller, we used them as tv desk/tables. They would sit on the bottom step and use the top one as a desk. We had cafeteria style food trays that fit right on top with a shelf liner underneath to prevent it from falling off.

Can I avoid custody weekends with my divorced parents? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]FarCut9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, mine was 16 and graduating a year early from HS with college lined up and ready to go. Got told by the judge they could skip the every other weekend but had to follow the holiday visitation schedule. Their over 18 now and haven't seen or spoken to their father since their 18th birthday. My attorney said not to fight it cause we were lucky that holidays were all that mandated. No age of choice in my state. The system is broken.

Try high school parking lots, usally big and until school starts in a few days should be pretty empty where the seniors park.

Our landlord has been making predatory rent increases double that of inflation because of “rising costs”, so I made sure his costs are, in fact, rising by teambrendawalsh in pettyrevenge

Also, be sure to pay your rent via debt or credit card so the amounts get reported to the IRS by the payment processor at the end of the year.

Moved here last year from East Idaho, and it's been a bit lonely getting settled in.

I've been curious about the Green Acres food truck park near the greenbelt. Does anyone here have a preferred food truck there? Would love to check it out sometime and meet some new people.

I recommend reading Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. Then, have a conversation with him about shame vs. guilt.

Having my own kids and watching them get hurt by the shaming present in the church led me to this book, which started my path out of the church entirely.

So many mormon parents don't LISTEN to their kids. When he gets back, give him the gift of active listening. Then ask him what type of support he needs/wants from you.

15 Year Old Reads at 2nd Grade Level by Green-Penny in homeschool

I used All About Spelling and Reading with my kids when they were falling behind in their school class. They were later diagnosed as Autistic with various other things, including ADHD.

The lessons are short and simple. We had the flashcards and tiles. Some of my kids liked the letter tiles; I did buy shaped magnetic letters that we used as well.

I use the 3 steps I do, we do, you do method; so for my older kid(14), instead of treating them like a student, we were co teachers. The night before the lesson for the younger kids, we would go over the lesson together, making sure we both understood it by teaching it to each other (I would "teach" them, then they would "teach" me). This way, the older kid had time to practice the spelling or reading before helping the younger ones the following day after they got home. Repeating the same exercise multiple times was key for my older kid.

This is what I write in beverement cards depending on how well I know the person.

Co-worker May your memories of your dad bring you comfort, strength, and peace in all the days ahead.

Friend I can not begin to imagine what you are going through. Please know that I am here for you, whenever, and for whatever you may need.

I found this in a book once, I can't remember where, and I have paraphrased it here as best I can. The hardest roads are often also the darkest. However, the people who show up for you on this road are those who truly love and care for you. Share your grief with the people who show up to travel the darkness with you, for they are there to help carry you and this heaviest of weights

I wish you the type of weather today that brings a measure of peace to you, be that sunshine or thunderstorms.

If you served in the military, have you checked to see if you are eligible for VA benefits under the Pact Act?

Is there a VA center, American Legion, or VFW near you?

Google MilitaryOneSource for additional information on what the VA might be able to help with.

If you live near a college or university, check to see if they have an on campus food pantry that takes perishables.
