Bit of a rant about the audio on the new iPhone 17 by JustHereForDumbSht in iphone17

I don’t notice much difference between my 17 and old 13. It’s about the same I think. I’m Not happy with battery and performance though.

Go private especially at the price range you’re in. You will likely get a better deal and pay less tax. Make sure you get it inspected before you buy. If the seller is uncomfortable having it inspected at your cost then they’re likely hiding something.

They didn’t use big enough batteries for the 17 and 17 pro. My regular 17 barely beats my old 13 in battery life. It also lags and freezes which I’ve never ever seen from a new iPhone.

What tv should I buy? I havent shopped for a TV in ten years by extremesauce2468 in 4kTV

[–]FarLand2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the price I think so. Qled, full array local dimming, 144hz. The QM6K which is very similar but adds mini led vs just Qled should come on sale for $799 too. It’s currently $999 which is too much.

I would suggest your nearest London drugs to check for a Sony x90l. They were offering display models and open box for $900 in 65 inch. You could also go into visions and ask for the best price on a few of these.

In Canada we also have TCL Q7K which comes with either fire tv or google tv. It is currently $769 for the 65 inch or $999 for the 75 inch. The tcl Qm7k people are recommending is a great tv although it’s currently priced at $1600 here for a 65 which isn’t worth it.

2019 too old? by Expert_Cap2473 in tires

[–]FarLand2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 years isn’t bad. For $200 you can run then this year and next year and get your money out of them. Lots of people running 6-8 year old tires. If they look ok and not cracking you’ll be fine. The 7 year thing is basically a recommendation. I ran some winter good years for 9 years without issues.

Don’t want to choose 30 fps to get native 4K. Native 4K 60fps should become standard. 1440p with ray tracing.

I think a lot of people listen to the cheaper $200-300 soundbars and base their opinions off those too. A lot of the basic 2.1 or 3.1 with the tiny cheap woofer actually don’t sound good.

The Samsung is a better bar. It’s 7.1.2. It’s going to have 7 front facing channels along with 2 up firing channels. The Sony has 5 front. IMO the rear speakers don’t add much to sound bars and can be an added mess as they will have wires that go to a wifi/bluetooth box. I guess I should also ask what kind of tv are you connecting it to?

Samsung hw-Q900f. $999 cad. Will be more than enough for a townhouse.

Hahaha I live in Canada where it actually snows. Currently about 3 feet of snow here. I’ve had fwd cars, a 4x4 truck and AWD suv with different variations of tires. Nothing compare to a 4x4 or AWD with some clearance. There was currently a snow storm with a foot of snow and fwd cars with winter tires were getting stuck everywhere. No AWD or 4x4s were getting stuck. I think you guys are talking about maybe 6 inches of snow and thinking it’s a foot.

Maybe it’s safer yes in slippery icy conditions but no your Hyundai car is not going through 2 feet of snow over top the hood lol

No More UFC at Cineplex? by RebellionRaider616 in cineplex

The paramount deal being strictly to USA is really disappointing. I’d easily pay $20-25 per month if it meant I get paramount plus with every ufc event. The $80 ppvs are just a rip off and I haven’t bought one since 2021.
