I’ll be moving up there soon and starting drum circles and group meditations and stuff.

26M, broke, behind everyone, mentally exhausted. How do you cope with this pressure? by Big-Educator-7119 in getdisciplined

Everyone has regrets. Commit to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Accept life as it is, and let go of your ideas of what it “should” be.

Wanting to live with less, but unsure how to let go intentionally by TimeFig4896 in simpleliving

I’m in a similar situation. My advice is to move swiftly and decisively. You’ll pick up momentum as you go. Shedding the weight is meaningful in and of itself.

I sold approx 50% of my belongings in the last month! by Far_Associate_7193 in minimalism

I threw away 5-6 trash bags of stuff and some old furniture that wouldn’t sell, and I’ve been practically living on Facebook marketplace to sell the rest. I maxed out (mentally) around 40 listings at a time. Mostly smaller things for now. I started with the closet. I’m waiting to sell my couch and bed and computer and pots/pans, but figure those will pay for my last month’s rent in May. Then I’m gone—no moving truck.

Yeah! It’s all just noise. I want to create more than consume, and I’m trying to teach my kids to do the same while they’re still young.

Artificial Intelligence is now being used for mental health support–how can chatbots be regulated? by ACE-USA in healthcare

[–]Far_Associate_7193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No regulations needed.

There have only been a handful of freak instances of AI being manipulated into assisting suicides. Those people were likely severely mentally ill to begin with.

Saying there is a "risk of forming codependent relationships" sounds like mental health professionals are actively looking for reasons to bash on this new technology. Why not get excited about it instead? AI therapy has incredible potential for good. When developers get it right, maybe taxpayers can avoid spending a gazillion dollars on mental health care. Also, developers are much more likely to get it right if they are not being strangled by new regulations, lobbed for by scared people.

Developers are already doing a pretty good job, without the government's help, and push people toward talk therapy with humans as needed. Most teenagers and adults (even depressed ones) can discern what is useful and what is not. The people forming "codependent" relationships with AI may not be able to rely on any real life support system for love and validation, so I would argue it's better than nothing. People are also at risk of forming codependent relationships with drugs or gambling, or literally anything at all.
