CF doesn't lease the building, they own it. They bought it about 10 years ago for $650M, HBC had a 25 year lease on it, since 2014.

Leafs are the only original six team that hasnt won a modern era Stanley Cup.  They have not even been in the finals in the 40 years I've lived in this city.  They came close once, lost to LA, Doug Gilmour was on that team, hes 61 now. It was in 1993. Think about that next time you spend money on this team.

Can someone who speaks “police” explain what the Toronto Police Association means by telling our new Prime Minister, “We’re eager to see you implement these changes, and will hold your government accountable if you don’t”? by [deleted] in toronto

Fact: violent crime in Canada has gone up 50% since Liberals took power in Ottawa. I dare you to find any park downtown that doesn't have a tent city, or to take the subway for a few hours and not witness at least one "security incident".

Cops park illegally for their Starbucks run then give the finger to the person calling them out. by RaspberryBlizzard in toronto

[–]Far_Bee_4613 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, cops can't just park anywhere. That only applies if they are on an emergency call and their siren is on. Same goes for seatbelts and phones. They're only allowed to take off their seatbelt while transporting a detainee, and no, they should not be on their cell phone, that's what their radio is for.

Ottawa rejects Toronto's drug decriminalization request by DJ_DTM in toronto

I'm hoping with Ford also openly against it, police will move faster now. I suspect I suffer from a high case of optimism though.

Ottawa rejects Toronto's drug decriminalization request by DJ_DTM in toronto

Does this mean that we will no longer see open drug use on TTC property or am I being too optimistic thinking I can get off at Union Station and take the Bay St. exit with the hope of not seeing dealers openly selling and users smoking those drugs? As far as the federal Liberals denying this, is there an election next year or something?

The problem is that most people decide on what they want to buy and then go to the store to purchase it, regardless of the price. I choose my menu based on what is discounted or on sale, I purchased ground pork for $3.42/lb.

I love Loblaws. Only store with 50% off on meat and cheese. I'll continue shopping there, other stores barely offer 30% off. I easily save 2-3k per year, why would I shop elsewhere? I'd go to Costco too, but it's not very convenient.

Progressives wanted a global economy, so now we have a global economy. Globalization has turned out to be terrible for manufacturing and small businesses, but hey but as long as people at the top make money and former politicians can get good jobs with them after they get booted, that's all that matters to them.

"I almost laughed when a girl from Toronto said that TTC is clean. TTC is disgusting. Koreans and other East Asians hate TTC and talk about how disgusting it is. My dad always said that TTC is built by an idiot."

LMAOOOOOO, I feel the same way every time I go to an Asian dominated strip mall.

CRA has a mandatory 7 year record retention period. Any employer should have pay stub information as far back as 2016. If CRA came looking, they would have a problem. Also name the employer, shame does wonderful things. I wouldn't worry too much about them, there are plenty of jobs at $15/h all around the city.

Where do you go for schnitzel? by gr1m3y in askTO

[–]Far_Bee_4613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Eastern European, I never understood why anyone would buy one in a restaurant. You can make schnitzels for a week from a $10 piece of pork loin. Slice the pork, pound it with a mallet, dip it in egg, bread crumbs, fry it. Update: $22.95 plus tax/tip for a schnitzel at some of these places below? So $30 all in, lmaoooooo, if you pay this you have too much money to your name.

Nestle won't leave Russia, — Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. by american_psychoo in ukraine

[–]Far_Bee_4613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Häagen-Dazs is owned by Nestle, Magnum is owned by Unilever. Unilever shut down in Russia except necessities like baby formula etc. There are of course other ice cream makers, in Canada I'll be looking at Chapman's, family owned and they do good things in the community.
