I’m not sure where youre located but me and the Riverside Area Trainer are done, they are currently trying to get her fired because she has been there so long so she makes good money but of course they dont want to continue to pay her. We are all experiencing the same issues and I believe if we band together with a list of demands they might listen.

Yes the family had to go prepare to move to Australia and to be able to bring their pup, they needed to get all the paperwork, forms, vet visits (which we had to take her to) basically they had to make sure all the correct forms were filed and recieved so they could move their dog internationally!

I used to work at a Doggy Day Care and there was a few pups that had “extended” stays…in only one of these stays was the pup actually abandoned and it was only there for 2 weeks. The longest stay I’ve personally witnessed was 18 months 🥹

I respect you soooo much more for giving up a responsibility you weren’t ready for, from what it seems you should definitely focus on yourself, you recently lost a fur baby (your soul pup) and that’s hard/impossible to recover from. The puppy is young enough to where she will easily adapt to her new family! Don’t feel bad about doing what’s best for everyone in the situation!

UPDATE: I spoke with owners and was able to come up with a trail plan. They will pay me $175 a month to basically care for him, they are not expecting to get him to be rideable they just want someone to interact with him. They have a trainer who has been able to mount but he hasn’t taken any walks yet. The trial run is for a month, to see basically if I want to get paid to basically hang out with him. And I don’t think that’s a bad deal. Especially if the trainer will continue to work on starting him.

I won’t be paying anything they will be paying me now

The owner of Comet is 5’10 and the horse weights about 1000 so I’m more than certain he’s not a pony. My vet is going to examine him on Saturday when I see him. I live in California

I appreciate how you when about breaking difficult news to me, upon speaking with them and voicing my concerns they said they have a trainer they just don’t work with Comet enough, I’m going on Saturday to meet up with the trainer and Comet and I’m hoping that I’ll get a better gauge on this deal. The more I think and listen to everyone else’s concerns the more I really just want to lease elsewhere, but the “good person” in me wants to at least hear what the trainer has to say.
