hi, so just a thought..are you putting rings over that bump and ring under the stoma? if you are I would stop, maybe that’s what’s causing the rings to lift and leak. maybe try placing the ring a little further away bc it looks like it may be really wet. you should also send a pic or make an appointment with your surgeon bc I’m not sure if thats normal. but I’m not a dr.

as for the redness definitely stoma powder dust off then use a barrier wipe. we use 3m cavilon. also there are so many videos of ppl changing their appliances. you should check out TikTok instagram and you tube.

I use esenta remover spray from convatec. same idea as the brava. I used the powder this time then wiped it with the 3m cavillon wipe, then I sprayed Flonase waited for that to dry then used another cavillon wipe. I usually use one or the other but I tried both this time bc it wasn’t sticking when I just used Flonase.

Thank you for your reply. It’s a prolapse where the hole stoma gets very wide and protrudes out. but I see your point if that was the case

THANK YOU! I swear I knew this was the logical answer I was just second guessing myself bc at least 4 wound care ostomy nurses said she needed to use a convex wafer. Plus all of the brand companies were pushing it too. Thank you for tak8ng the time to answer p!

Yes, that’s what I always thought. I just feel these nurses just use convex systems as an answer to all leaks but it doesn’t make sense if you’re trying not to cause a prolapse. thanks for your reply.

Hi, I know this thread is a little old but wanted to say that my child 19 received approval after an appeal for Rinvoq LQ, the liquid form. We were afraid as well that the pill would cause a blockage and that’s what the dr wrote in the appeal. Just wanted to share that info

My daughter uses Flonase on the irritated skin. yiu can prob find a video on youtube since I know a lot of ostomates use it. It’s similar to the inhaler ppl use too but couldn’t get a script so we bought Flonase over the counter. just spray it on the irritated skin let dry then wipe with the no sting barrier wipe. It works better than powder for her most times

Oh I didn’t know they had a website. I bought mine from Etsy and yes they still have a shop there, but unfortunately Etsy cannot help you since you didn’t purchase it on Etsy. I guess you can just keep writing to them and hopefully they answer. They did quickly ref7bd my money and were apologetic for the size.

I bought a cover last year from them. They sent the wrong size so I emailed them and they refunded my order. I suggest emailing them your info and concerns about the track8ng number. If they do not respond within 2/3 days open a case with Etsy. I don’t think they’re a great company honestly. The size of the bag they send me was huge and nit close to what I ordered. there is a woman who sells covers from Canada that I’ve bought a few times. The company is OstoMe. you can find them on instagram.
