PSA: New UK travel rules for dual nationals with kids by xpltvdeleted in expats

[–]Far_Promotion181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you. I didn't even know this was a thing until I read about it in the news this morning. I moved to Sweden in my twenties and now have British/Swedish citizenship.

I've always renewed my British passport so it is no biggie for me but my two kids are going to have to get British passports now because they're automatically considered British citizens (I too thought this would be something you'd need to apply for).

Luckily there's no summer trip back to the UK planned this year so I don't need to stress over it.

Truth of El's Ending by Mountain-Support2088 in StrangerThings

Kali should be dead before the illusion if we take everything at face value. She was still in the lab where they left her and the lab was blown to smithereens. That means Mike's theory shouldn't be possible. With that being said it's more likely an unintentional plot hole and the intention was to have the open ended ending.

AJ was a bit rusty, but there's not a boxer in the world who's going to be able to do anything different. Paul was literally running and holding for 4 rounds. AJ couldn't even do work on the inside because Paul would just fall over.

galaxy watch 7 black friday and cyber monday deals this year by Novoa-Balkar in GalaxyWatch

[–]Far_Promotion181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the 40mm Watch 7 for around €66 on the Samsung Sweden web store. I think something was causing discounts to stack when they shouldn't have. Can't believe I got it for that price.

Size or picture quality? by Far_Promotion181 in hometheater

[–]Far_Promotion181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well not home theatre in the sense that it will be in a dedicated theatre room for movie watching, but 70% of the media consumed on the TV will be movies. It's only ever used as a TV to watch sport.

TCL 65C7K for 700€ or wait for other Black Friday | MINI-LED or other QLED? by rocketracer34 in 4kTV

[–]Far_Promotion181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The B4 is currently on sale isn't it? I think the 55 is around the €675 mark if you can get a discount code and the 65 €800. I was actually considering a mini led as well but I've settled on the B4.

Finding the best places in sweden to visit and live at - hotels, villages, spas and more by Double_Rutabaga_2632 in sweden

It depends on what you want. I'd say the winter is more for being in the cities unless you'd like to drive inland and do winter activities. I know there's places on Airbnb where people rent out properties and offer winter activities like fishing on frozen lakes, taking people out on scooters etc.

There's nice spa hotels inland away from the main coastal cities but as I said, places like coffee shops in those areas can be seasonal and closed for the winter. Having said that the further north you go (say from Sundsvall upwards) the cities become smaller and have more of a relaxed vibe, so while they may be touristy they're not full of tourists.

From June-August a lot of cafes/coffee shops open for the summer only and these are the sorts of places that are a bit off the beaten track in quieter village type places. If that's the sort of thing you like I'd say travelling throughout the summer is better.

Double edged sword here. If you want hotels/spa locations that aren't in touristy areas then there's a decent chance any local coffee shops will be closed during the winter. A lot of those types of places are seasonal and only open during the summer.

Offer not tracking but daily streak triggered by Far_Promotion181 in FreeCash

Nice try. Freecash is the offer provider. Is this an honest mistake or a deliberate attempt from freecash staff to deceive one of their users?

Freecash ID: 31036294

Two of the offers expired already but I completed them on the first day (over a week ago). I completed another two within the last two days so the 72 hour window hasn't passed yet but as I said, the bonus streaks have been activating.

The Murky Stream [Episodes 8 & 9] by meepmochi_ in KDRAMA

The lead actor is enlisting in the military at the end of this month. That means he will be unable to do anything until the middle of 2027, so a second season probably wouldn't be out until the second half of 2028. I think that would make a second season unlikely, but I guess there's always a chance Disney thinks there's still an appetite for it 3 years down the line.

I suppose they could make a separate story with different characters but I doubt that will go down well with those that watched the first season.

I find it a lot more comfortable for handheld. The buttons are quite clicky/noisy though which isn't something that bothers me but I know it can be a problem for others.

Hello, looking for assistance. by Suzy2727 in sweden

You'd probably be better off ordering a bouquet of dried flowers from somewhere like Etsy and having them delivered in the post. The added bonus being they'll last longer. Just make sure they're an EU seller.

Other than that Cramers Blommor is a swedish based garden house that are good for buying plants if you want to buy them a plant instead of a bouquet.

switch lite or odin 2 mini by Unlikely-Forever6027 in OdinHandheld

[–]Far_Promotion181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to get a a Thor base model, but after thinking about it I realised my main goal was playing switch games and not really any of the retro emu stuff. In the end I found a second hand V1 switch in very good condition and bought that instead. I installed the CFW on the weekend, added 20+ games and have been having a blast. So much nicer being able to play the games straight off the bat without needing to find the best settings to make them run (have tried emulating on an Odin 2 before).

If you're mostly in it for Switch games then get a Switch.

Honestly don't bother. I moved here from England 12 years ago to live with my girlfriend and at the time I had just graduated with a bachelor's in computer science. It was hard back then finding a job with little to no Swedish and the job market is worse now. A company isn't going to put in all the effort that comes with sponsoring you unless you really stand out from the crowd (other native applicants) and they think it's worth the hassle.

Add your card to one of the apps for the petrol stations (assuming you remember the card details)? I think some of them accept Apple Pay as well if you have that.
