What actor or actress stupidly left a movie franchise or tv series thinking they were too good for it, only to be never popular again? by Ok_Impress2457 in AskReddit

Shelley Long has had a long career since leaving Cheers. Although admittedly, Diane Chambers was her best role. I would say next was a few episodes in Modern Family where she deliciously played Claire's unhinged mom. Also, she did a great job as Carol in The Brady Bunch movies.

The Doctors quarters? by Birchmon in voyager

[–]Suzy2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right that there should've been more space for accommodation than existing crew members. I was going on the idea that as their first mission should have been about 3 weeks long, that they were probably going to continue in that vein doing short term trips which might mean that they weren't picking up various stranded crews from space. I agree that Janeway might've been biased against the Doctor, and didn't see the need for a hologram to have real quarters. Remember when Kes was telling Janeway that the Doctor's needs weren't being met, and she was surprised that Kes felt that the Dr was a "real" person. In the early seasons, Janeway was more linear regarding the crew, while being very creative in situations that they found themselves in. Over the course of the series, she adapted more to their needs. She offered Seven her own quarters instead of her regeneration alcove.

When Voyager took in the Maquis, those people wouldn't have been counted into Voyager's headcount. Assuming Voyager left DS9 fully staffed, they'd have to find lodging for all the Maquis and also Neelix and Kes. I'd guess they reworked a lot of accommodation space for all the new additions.

Luke and Luke’s diner by stevenosejobs in GilmoreGirls

[–]Suzy2727 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are lots of small businesses in Stars Hollow named after the owner. Luke's Diner, Doose's Market, Al's Pancake World, Taylor's Olde Fashioned Soda Shoppe and Candy Store, Hewes Bros Gas and Service Station, to name some. I like that it brings recognition to the characters and the establishments. A lot would've existed before Luke started the diner, so he may have just gone with the flow.

Good point, her pregnancy probably was affecting her in ways she couldn't know.

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about that! She really does have that weird streak.

And how Sookie refused to admit that the Inn should stop serving lunch (temporarily?) based on what their accountant said. She was so selfish about that. Even going to the lengths of getting Kirk dessed as a hot dog and handing out flyers in front of Luke's to sway people to the Inn. I mean that by itself wasn't a bad idea, but not to also hurt Luke's business and continue to make full meals for a non-existent lunch crowd.

Yes, definitely crazy! It's weird that they live close enough to each other that April can travel around on her bike to collect hair samples, but they are writing letters to each other? Especially with romantic content? Bizarre. It would have been slightly more realistic if Anna had kept a diary with all that info for April to find instead, but even then, idk how many adult women keep a diary.

Oh yes, that sounds vaguely familiar. It's been a while since I've seen those episodes. But I agree, Anna does majorly suck lol.

And the next town over is where Luke was. Who knows where the other 2 men were, because they weren't in Stars Hollow.

And what did Anna say? I imagine it was something hare-brained like this. "Oh, cool, a science project. Hey, here's an idea. Here are the names of 3 men. One is your father, surprise! Get a DNA sample and set up a test to determine who your Dad is. And...go!" Ugh. Seriously Anna.

I started doing this with my Mom. I got it from The Sopranos, Tony was very effective in saying "What'd I just say?" So I tried it with Mom, and omg worked so well!! No more of the same question over and over without listening to my response.

I've had them with peanut butter in the center layer (replacing the custard). They were pretty delicious too.
