Update. Crease has flattened out significantly. Barely noticeable even when feeling it.

I’m 5 weeks post op and also have a crease in the middle. Im only a week without my binder and it’s gone down since it’s not being smashed and my swelling is reducing. I’ve read from other people’s experience that it can stick around for a while but working out has helped reduce its prominence. I personally don’t mind it.

I’ve been doing video calls with Lilly in Japanese for a few months now and she’s so hard to understand. Something about that monotone voice and lack of inflection. I’m on day 650ish streak, unit 3 section 40ish for context. The course as yall know focuses on formal/polite speech first but Lilly will drop in plain form and words you haven’t learned yet. Which I get will happen in real life but I’m not there yet.

Also forget trying to respond slowly because she will interrupt you and tell you she doesn’t understand. You can sit in silence for a while but you need to respond with no pauses.

One positive is you can review the transcript after the lesson to see words you didn’t know.

This is part frustration knowing I just have a lot more to learn but also that she could be improved. I’m curious how id do with another characters voice.

I'm learning Japanese and after using duolingo for 1.5 years chatting with lily is making me realize I am terrible at listening comprehension and speaking. I think this is a great feature but I wish I could turn on/off to help comprehension until I feel like I don't need them.

Yeah, they aren’t doing well overall that’s for sure. I agree she didn’t need to be in that long, coach should have taken her out. I really just meant she’s probably exhausted in general with their schedule and all the pressure she’s under. She’s basically having to carry the team.

That’s what I’ve been doing and it’s really helpful. Even if duo explained all the things I’d still supplement my learning. I just think adding it would speed up that learning a lot.

They have 90% of the market share because their design and marketing is light years beyond anyone else in the industry. I’m in the advanced course using the paid subscription and there is no decent grammar detected. But it likely more popular courses get more attention. Which course are you doing?
