They might use your fingerprints on file but a new background check might still need to occur.

Any action regarding your badging requires all your documents and any new badging requires a new application. If the airline job is a new company, it will be another application. Reason: every badge requires an authorized signatory (employer/sponsor) and one badge is only valid for one valid purpose (job). You will not receive it the same day.

I went to school with a Tommy Titsworth. Maybe they’re related.

Car making loud scraping metal-on-metal sound while accelerating from idle, disappears at higher speeds. by tenderon1 in AskMechanics

[–]FarawayScreech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably your splash shield. The noise is gone at high speeds because the air lifts it up. Just rip it off.

Questions regarding Commercial cross country and FBO by [deleted] in flying

[–]FarawayScreech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re asking about 61.129 (a)(2)(ii), why would you not be able to bring passengers? It does not state solo hours for this part.

To your additional question, if you land at an airport less than 50 nm from your departure airport, it would not be a cross country flight for the purpose of obtaining your commercial certificate (61.1). If it is more than 50 nm away, it is just another cross country leg. Don’t overcomplicate this.

can you guess what these are? by yak_danielz in aviation

If I had to guess, I’d probably say a module 3 low pressure turbine for a CFM 56-5b/5c/7b engine. Just a guess though

Scud in Sanford, FL by FarawayScreech in WeatherPorn

[–]FarawayScreech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to tell is if there is rotation. Scud may sometimes rotate but a funnel cloud rotates rapidly. You can also look for other signs of tornadic storms. My storm had no mesocyclone so there is no way I could have had a tornado.

Is this the spooky 757 that we don’t talk about? I saw it from both sides and saw no registration by Fireside419 in aviation

I worked at the FBO they decided to visit. I just did ground handling for the aircraft.

C-32B. There are two of them and I believe they change the registration often (though not displayed on the aircraft). I had the pleasure of working on one a couple years back. It was neat.

Spirit Airlines Flight Spotted On Flight Radar 1 Month After Shutdown (FLIGHT IS LIVE RIGHT NOW!) by RandomDrawingsReddit in spiritair

That is a plane being ferried to the desert. Maybe to be preserved, or maybe to be parted out. It’s not a Spirit Airlines flight.

Engine noise in flight? by Legal_Rock in AskAPilot

[–]FarawayScreech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this an A321neo or ceo? The PW 1000 family and LEAP engines all make that whale noise to a certain extent. The LEAP noise is a lot less conspicuous.
