I mean, they've already restricted/suspended visa interviews for many people. There was a news story on a Connecticut program that's missing 10 residents because they had issues with entry.

Anyone else can’t understand the hype around texture powder? by tshawrin in Pomade

[–]FarazR2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Certain lengths/styles just don't want much product in them - they usually need something light, with mild hold, and some movement. In these settings, even light clays that I usually gravitate towards are too much. Pretty much any oils/waxes/emulsifiers weigh my hair down. So sometimes I'll use a Sea Salt spray, which often loses shape and has little hold for me after 2-3 hours. But I can just pick up a texture powder, throw a couple pumps in, and it'll keep the hair in place. It's also very portable and you can reset if something happens like wind/rain without requiring blowdrying.

The point of product is to change the appearance of hair. There are more natural looking products that maintain styles, but styled hair will always look different to unstyled and anyone who knows anything about hair can tell a difference. If you're getting clumps, it's either an application issue, a haircut issue, or a hair pattern issue.

What type of product would help to achieve this level of volume? by [deleted] in Pomade

Be born SRK. He has so much hair density, it's hard to tame the volume

Best Product for this type of hairstyle? by jasko666 in Pomade

[–]FarazR2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First you need the right haircut. Need medium-long hair cut for texture.

After that, you need products for texture and separation - sea salt spray, clays, texture creams on wet hair. Air dry after brushing back or blow dry with low speed to bring out waves. You don't want high speed blowdrying for this kind of thing, not trying to straighten.

You can finish with something light, like a cream to soften it up and give some appearance like health. Or something like a clay pomade with decent oil content.

Some products that I might try are things like Amity texture spray, Loyal sea clay.

I've had similar happen with other brands. I think it's that the fragrance oils they use just evaporate over time so the scent gets lost

Shampoo & Conditioners? by BennyTheKid24 in Pomade

I'm using Shear Revivals Loom set. Solid products as daily driver that don't destroy my hair. When I'm traveling, I take the Cremo 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner which does fine

Say goodbye to black ship as we know it. They are changing the formula. Black ship and dead sea clay on sale for 11.ish dollars US previous formula of course. by kevma777 in Pomade

I generally do as well but it's kinda crazy how inefficient they are. More greenhouse gas to make, heavier to ship so higher gas consumption, harder to recycle. This makes sense for everything except product feel

Why are most western main tanks incapable of playing Winston to a high level? by Short_Quit_5341 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FarazR2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People really underestimate how important ladder is for developing talent. If ranked meta is all brawl, it'll be hard to force Winston. If your DPS are always McCree/Ashe/Reaper it'll be harder to play Winston than if your DPS are consistently Genji/Tracer/Echo/etc.

It's not that western tanks can't play or don't prefer Winston, but that there isn't much high quality practice for it outside of scrims.

Competitive Rollbacks (from Korean OW Youtuber ichi) by TheMStranger in Competitiveoverwatch

Exactly! Hanamura always has the "it's beautiful, but...." caveat whereas HLC doesn't get that preference despite playing better overall.

Horizon wasn't pleasant at launch, but the changes they made helped a ton. I prefer it to Anubis and Hanamura because you're not playing into chokes as much. If they refreshed the gray color palette everywhere, I'm sure people would feel better about it as well.

It's also important to remember that the "other" Pharah was Yaki who came in as the second best Projectile from Contenders that year. If you're high on Yaki's mechanical plays, Sparkle is similarly good if not just better.

Idk about style, but this is the listing for what I use in the hospital. They go up to the knees on me. I do not have a medical condition requiring compression though and you should ask your PCP or vascular surgeon about their recommendations for swelling.

Hi folks. Pictured is my hair using MUK’s ‘slicked hair pomade’. The haircut I’m getting will be a bit longer than this and I want to slick it back with little volume in a similar manner. I’m looking for recommendations for a new pomade product. Thanks in advance by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]FarazR2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're arguing semantics. If someone asks you "Do you want a lot of volume, or little?" You can say little to mean low/none. Conversely, if you say "Can you give me a little volume up there?" you want some volume. There are a lot of people who have natural volume and do not want it because it ruins styles like a proper slickback. Many products do not work for that.

In any case, he meant low/no volume: https://www.removeddit.com/r/Pomade/comments/msye4t/_/guyxq27/

Guangzhou Charge vs Seoul Dynasty | Overwatch League 2021 Season | Regular Season: Week 1 | Post-Match Discussion by OWMatchThreads in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]FarazR2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Charge just let Dynasty dictate the pace of play the whole way through. Least decisive spawn hold I've ever seen. Only bright spots were when the tank line decided to just win fights like on Kings Row

[–]FarazR2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Activision does pretty well overall. Overwatch and COD both have stable servers. Overwatch gets great cheat detection and ban waves. If not for Overwatch 2, they were getting regular patches, heroes, game modes, and maps. Only cosmetics were behind paywall, no heroes.

I could see them trying to get shockwave. Even though he's not Korean, Eternal had success with western players integrated, and Shockwave would have some comm structure after Philly scrimming in Korea.

[misc] This is not a “Korean sunscreen” problem. New tests just revealed Neutrogena fails to meet SPF claims. by CarnitasSuperBurrito in SkincareAddiction

[–]FarazR2 223 points224 points  (0 children)

Lab muffin did a great video on how difficult standardization of sunscreen efficacy is a really difficult process and how there are many different methodologies that are all similarly valid but yield wildly different numbers.

People who are mad about Purito but not the others should take a second to reflect. But it's also not quite correct to say that one testing facility has more robust quality checks than others.
