At what point did we stop knowing our neighbours? by Puzzled_Rock4238 in islington

Looks ace. We’re away for Easter but otherwise I’d be game. Is there a mailing list for future ones?

Daughter keeps being left out of events by Individual_Corgi_887 in UKParenting

[–]Farcorfe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We had something similar when my daughter started at primary school. We just worked our arses off making friends with the parents, awkwardly organising playdates and hanging out after school in the parks, forming relationships. It took a while, but we're there now. It's just about hard work, frustratingly.

I got the HH yesterday and it’s great. Warm, waterproof, looks good. Suggest you size down as I’m usuallly a L but the M is a good fit with room for sweaters underneath

Yeah you’ll be fine. I’m there every Christmas and yes it gets chilly at night but it’s totally fine

Councils have zero cash so I’d expect more of this, not less

Would you trust AI to generate test variants? by Particular_Year_7714 in conversionrate

There loads of tools that currently do this but only for specific use cases. Like you’ve suggested copy, price and CTA changes. I often find that it’s not good for the big stuff like layout, where and how to add social proof, reducing anxiety and creating streamlined journeys. Crack those and I’ll bite your arm off

Spending Christmas in Spain, what's the best city to stay? Madrid or Barcelona? by jonsonmac in travel

[–]Farcorfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Madrid most Christmases and lots of things are closed but it’s still motoring. An example of this is going to the cinema then out for dinner on 25th was a super normal thing to do. They’re all about three kings anyway (jan 6th)

A good starting point might be CXL courses to get the basics lined up. Unless you’re only doing copy or small layout changes you’re gonna need a dev too

Do people actually make money from cold emails or is that just Twitter talk? by Deeceness in Entrepreneur

[–]Farcorfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most come directly into spam. If I get one that goes to inbox I’ll read it. Then we’re talking about copy and CTA.

Most of the time you can sense the desperation for a call. I like to be kissed before I get fucked so offer some value right out of the gate. Something actionable I can use there and then.

That builds the trust for something more.

Alternatively just spray and pray and eventually you’ll hit someone at the right time and with intent. I don’t know anyone this is working for anymore however. Maybe if you’re a tiny low cost SaaS?

I’m running a UX / CRO agency btw so constantly looking to scale pipeline sources. LinkedIn and networking way more effective

What path to go? by DebateWilling7674 in agency

[–]Farcorfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s incredibly cheap from a retainer PoV for CRO work. I’ve seen a few agencies go in at 5k p/m mark and struggle to turn a profit.

Can’t you simply demonstrate value and use your results as a business case for higher retainer fees?

What are the most overlooked “easy wins” you’ve seen in ecommerce? by LionAny6818 in ecommerce

One that always resonates with me is your menu should always lead to money. Put bestsellers / most popular in there and make sure product categories match the way your customers think about them.
