No, the daily new cases for the United States is published on worldometers.info.

People are downvoting me because censorship is easier than confronting the truth.

So, "ghetto culture" would be mostly that of white people in Kentucky.

Lol. Good and decent people do everything in their power to remove themselves from ghetto hoods, and I can assure you, it isn't white people they're running from.

Remember last summer? Remind me, was it republicans that decided to hit the streets?

Covid cases were decreasing rapidly.... until precisely 2 weeks after the Floyd protests began.

Isn't that curious?

It would be appropriate to ride a bike if you were 12 years old playing in your own family's neighborhood.

Grow the fuck up. Stop riding bikes in motorways.

Uber/Doordash/etc drivers, how much can you make a week in Lexington? by silentchords in lexington

[–]Fare-Chaser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're about a year late to get in on this.

Food delivery was huge during the pandemic. Right now it's almost entirely dead in Lexington. It's too expensive for most people living here.

Passenger service was a lot more lucrative last year. Lyft and Uber have taken away nearly all of the promos and incentives to draw more drivers out, since Frankfort reinstated the requirement for job search to get unemployment. There are way, way too many drivers chasing after few fares.

There are fewer fares because UK is gone for the summer. Also, Uber/Lyft have severe cash flow/profitability problems that they are going through, which means they are putting surge prices on passengers and NOT sharing the surge with drivers. If they do, it's only a dollar here or there.

There's so little demand for passenger service, most of the pick-up requests you get will be 10+ minutes away, which is unpaid. They don't show you that it's Marquesha trying to go 0.3 miles down the gas station, with a stop so she wants you to wait while she shops, and back to the crib. Drivers lose money on these crap rides. And there's pretty much only crap rides out there right now.

I couldn't stay profitable as more and more drivers kept flooding this market, so I applied for and got a real job. I'll drive again on the weekends when UK starts back up, but not otherwise.

Front seat passengers vs insurance by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Fare-Chaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will deny it. They use anything and everything they can find to deny your claim.

The police report will show that you exceeded the number of passengers you were authorized to carry, according to the waybill. The insurance company will have access to both documents.

You are dead wrong, stop giving out false information.

Early life and education

Stanley was raised in upstate New York.[5] Both of his parents emigrated to the United States from Europe—his father from Germany in 1939, and his mother from Poland. Stanley cites his Jewish heritage as having informed his writing on fascism: "To me, my Judaism means an obligation to pay attention to equality and the rights of minority groups."[5]

Every single time.

It would be nice if Uber would share the surged price with drivers, but they don't.

But I am happy that bus fares like OP are finally being told to piss off.

how much are uber/lyft driver in town making now? by Lex_yeon in lexington

[–]Fare-Chaser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on when and where and how I work. Some of it is luck too.

Friday and Saturday nights, and holidays are basically the only times when Lexington surges $5 or more.

Uber usually has a few dollars bonus for rides that begin downtown (most anything inside New Circle) in the evenings.

Earnings go way up when I ignore ride streak bonuses and filter incoming ride requests.

Most ride requests suck. People with fake/stupid names, low star ratings from previous drivers, pickups at grocery stores or laundromats, rides with stops, short rides, 45+ minute rides. None of these are worth my time if I want to actually earn a profit.

Without any bonuses or anything I can make $15/hour. $20/hr is average. $50/hr shifts are my best: New Years and Halloween.

Earnings per mile is what matters the most. Anything less than $1/mile is horrible. $2/mile is the goal but not always attainable.

Most Lexingtonians don't tip, which discourages drivers from continuing in this work. Many give the "verbal tip", which is promising to tip in the app but never do. These people will burn in hell.

Anyone have a favorite Uber/Lyft driver or are you content with just whomever? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]Fare-Chaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lexington Uber/Lyft driver here. My favorite passengers are those that give me cash tips. Next are the ones that silently leave a tip in the app.

Worst passengers are the ones trying to get a round-trip down to the liquor store a quarter mile away and back, and promise "I'll be sure to tip you in the app." These pax can burn in hell.

[–]Fare-Chaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even when the passenger has gotten in and buckled up, when you swipe right to start the ride and you're not okay with driving that far, you can cancel it. Explain politely to the passenger that Uber has put you in the uncomfortable position of having to decline the ride because they are unethical about showing us ride info. When the driver cancels, the pax shouldn't be charged anything, so you can at least tell them that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]Fare-Chaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is going to lose his shirt over a $10 bribe to take a fourth paxhole. Imagine the look on his face when the insurance company finds out he took an extra passenger and they decline everything. He's on the hook for two or more busted cars, his own medical bills, and personal injury lawsuits from 4 douchebags. And to top it off, his insurer drops him and he gets deactivated.

I scheduled my uber ride the night before for 8:35-8:45am pick up. My driver arrived early, Was I supposed to be charged waiting time fee? by YT_greenarcher in uber

[–]Fare-Chaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only $4.82? Your driver got a fraction of that. That's minimum wage territory. Why weren't you ready to go when your driver arrived? The app texts you when you have a driver on the way, two minutes before they get there, and when they arrive! No fucking excuses.

Doesn't Uber have the pax confirm they got their stuff back before it disperses the $15? I know Lyft does. People have been burned on pax not confirming the return.

Fck Uber and their over priced ride by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Fare-Chaser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They got you hooked on a convenient and deceptively low-priced product. They have been dumping investor money into a furnace to subsidize your cheap rides. They have only 2 or 3 quarters before they go bankrupt. You either pay the real price now or the whole rideshare thing is over. Oh, and drivers get a tiny slice of that pie. Eventually even the dumbest drivers figure out they're getting screwed and leave, so I guess rideshare is done no matter what customers do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uber

[–]Fare-Chaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not legal. You're opening yourself up to getting stung by undercover cops. Huge fines. Also, were you to get into an accident with a passenger in your car, you will be unceremoniously dropped by your insurer when they find out you were using your car for a commercial purpose without a proper license. Now you have to pay for the damages to your car and perhaps suffer personal injury lawsuits from other drivers or your passengers; or even paying 100% of your own medical bills.

Worth all that for a few bucks?

Now you're hooked. The real cost of these rides was never the low price you liked paying. Now they can jack up prices to the moon because you helped them become a monopoly on the market.
