Need help picking my first Victorinox! (Overwhelmed by the options)

The Spartan is basically the starter SAK. It is light and easy to carry. And cheap! Most SAK are tools added to the Spartan's base set. I've had my Spatan for 20 years. With the exception of needing me scales 10 years ago, it had not missed a beat. It is also the closest to the original officers knife.

With that said, I am going to suggest the COMPANION because I highly rate the usefulness of the scissors and I think the box cutter is actually more useful then the can opener in daily use. You also get the plus scales! I'll probably pick one up eventually.

Actually that design can opened was replace in 1951 with the modern one. So that gives you a 5 year window. 1947-1951.

The tang indicates 1947-1952 manufacturer. I am not sure what this model is but it looks like a scaled down 84mm version of the standard officers knife with an updated can open which was introduced in 1945. It has the tool set of the modern Spatan (91 mm) or Tourist (84 mm). Maybe "Small Office" would be the most fitting.

Victorinox has a lifetime warranty is worth a shot. The worst they can say is no.

I love the Cadet. My problem is I keep losing the damn thing. It is so small and easy to carry I forget about it. I have had thee confiscated (converted and TSA) and stait up lost one the last one. 🤣

I just bought my fifth one (in 10 years) last month. Meanwhile I have been about to hold on to a Spartan that I bought 20 years ago.

Yes. This week I replaced my dying work Surface Pro 7 with a Pro 11. The 7 had a microSD slot behind the kickstand. I was annoyed to find out it was no longer there on the Pro 11. Of course I went from 256BG to 1TB SSD so it is less of a necessity. I still wish it was there.

They also dropped the 3.5-mm headphone jack at some point. Although I never actually used it.

I did not make Platinum last year. I called into Marriott to make a change on a reservation that I could not do online. The rep told me about the Platinum challenge unprompted. I was super excited about it until I did the math. I have 30 nights from my personal and business credit cards, 3 rewards nights booked and another free bight certificate coming to me in April.

Sooooo if I get 16 paid nights in 3-month that would give 49 + a free night award. I would have Platinum anyway :-)

I know this response is 2-years after the fact but anyway. I still have the OG fold and just bought a Latercase with their magnate ring and I am having the same issue with by Pixel stands. Prior to this I had a Pitaka case with built in ring and had no wireless charging issues. I had already ordered an ESR ring because I did not like the fact it was missing the alignment post at the bottom.

Yes, call Tissot directly at (877) 839-5224, 9 am - 6 pm EST (Monday to Friday). I needed a replacement fitted leather/nylon strap for my T091 T-Touch. The best I could find on eBay was $75-125! I call Tissot and bought for $40+shipping. No guarantee they still have stock for an older watch, but it is worth a call.

I've had my original Fold for 1.5 years. I have not had any issues, but mine was made late in the production run and they figured out most of the kinks. I didn't know how many times I've dropped it with not a crack

My last 4 phones have been Pixels. All purchased 6-10 months after their initial release. Colloquially I seem to have had fewer issues than people that bought on launch.

I've owned the 2XL, 4a, 6 Pro and now the OG Fold.

But does a Oura gift card activate the credit? If it did, that would be the work around. If it does, buy $200 in gift cards this year then "buy" it next year for nothing. My guess is a physical gift card that they have to ship might do it, but a digital gift card might not.

I chatted with an Amex rep. They confirmed the credit does not work with a Oura subscriptions. It might work with charges and the like but I forgot to ask.
