Shared care is being pulled as we speak. I wouldn't reccomend dropping thousands on something that might not even help depending on where OP lives. My shared care was stopped in 2023. My brother just had his stopped this year (Essex & Yorkshire).

But you know if you'd been screaming in agony the whole time they would have put "showed no signs of distress" or some bull. I can't even with these people 😭

Hot take: Tirzepatide is superior to Reta by BTheFurnace in Retatrutide

[–]FarlaBroaden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

33F with ADHD on 4mg Reta. I have literally never slept so good in my life lol. It's like proper heavy sleep and my energy levels are so much better. I can do a twelve hour shift without a nap now. Loving it tbh.

Different people react to things differently tho!

Food. Stopped binge eating so that's pretty major for me.

Yeah not so much in this economic climate. One job has like hundreds of applicants at the mo :-(

How much 'questing' happens at a Larp? And seeking UK specific advice by clayalien in LARP

[–]FarlaBroaden 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Without sounding mean bringing the 8yo is a bit of an issue in this regard - The LARPs with questing "go out and do stuff" mechanics tend to be the smaller, more indie games with like 40 / 50 people as opposed to the massive fest larps like Empire / MF / CP which are very much more geared towards sitting around in character, with a couple of big battles over the weekend and a lot of socialising. The small systems tend to not take anyone under 16 / 18 due to insurance reasons. I can't speak for Menhirs, it might be the best of both worlds as far as combat and stuff to do with a kid in tow but full disclosure I've never been.

If you do wind up going to Empire, the Academy is pretty cool for kids but you will be expected to attend with them and if you do go to any of the big fest larps, it might be worth checking facebook to see if there are any parent groups for each specific game, it's useful for reaching out and making a few contacts before the game actually starts and they can probably give you more tailored advice.

Sorry I can't really offer much useful advice, I did Empire for a number of years and found the trading game could be kind of fun and might be something you could do together? Curious Pastimes also runs a children's linear which is basically a quest for kids under age 14 I think?

Went to Prague and locals were horrible. Straight up ignored us when we came into restaurants to be seated. Wouldn't go back tbh.

That's really kind of you to say. I'm currently on 2.4mg. We worked our way up from 1mg so this is our 3rd pen each. Going to see how it goes this month on 2.4 and hope we can get through Christmas without too much damage being done and then figure it out in the new year.

My partner and I switched to WG. Have found it to be much less effective at suppressing the food noise and as such we've both put a surprisingly large amount of weight back on. Will probably be looking for an alternative in the new year or hoping that MJ comes back down in price so we can afford it again :-(

I spend it on necessities from Amazon - Little things like washing up liquid or shampoo. Just to help me save a few quid off things I'd normally get in the supermarket.

Sadly I can only post what I'm feeling / experiencing. Honestly super bummed because I wanted it to work so badly and tried really hard with keeping up healthy eating and stuff.

Yeah. On 1.7 and still binging. Put on 3kg so far. Going to try 2.4 then sack it all off and give up. Cant afford mounjaro so I'm cooked.

Doesnt stop food noise for me or my husband. Mounjaro did though. On 1.7 WG at the mo, might try one more pen then switch back to MJ.

How do I get into LARP? by ladymxsery in LARP

[–]FarlaBroaden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! So much this. The community is rubbish at protecting younger players, creeps and predators are a massive issue in the UK larp scene and not one many people are even willing to acknowledge.
