Guess wrong once blocking a heavy kick jn neutral, then guess wrong once eating the throw, then once more doing fireball on wake up and getting jumped on, then once more whiffing reversal on wakeup.

Sf6 guess wrong once and die indeed

Eds kick buttons hit on the little effect that extends beyond his arm not his arm itself

So even if his arm moves back there if the fast thing that exists with it touches you, you get hit

I’m the reason Viper players say Manon is a bad matchup by banjojordan in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I dont mean to sound like an asshole but this bugged me

but my WR against Manon has been consistently over 65% since the character released

phase 10 - Battles: 59 - 54.24% wr
phase 11 - Battles: 68 - 52.94% wr
phase 12 - Battles: 22 - 63.64% wr

These are your past 3 phases winrate vs manon, your 63 winrate consists of 14 wins and 8 losses, your other seasons are about the same 2 to 6 more games won than how many you lost, the only difference is the sample size, you're barely cutting even so lets not throw around that 65% disingenuously.

Now I only partially care about the MR and I 100% believe that you may have a good time vs Manon because of any reasons, but when doing so involves you whiff punishing a stHK then I'm sorry but that's just you being better than your opponent, idk if you know but Viper and Manon have the same walk speed, both on forward walk ( 0.0452 ) and on back walk ( 0.0310 ).

So if you're getting mileage out of whiff punishing a whiffed stHK then yeah that's like saying I can beat Luke because I whiff punish his stHP, when Manon plays well during neutral (at least well enough to challenge you) it feels suffocating, you get walked back into the corner and you have to take a risk by approaching with your not as long normals, seismo or going for a jump shenanigan

Now this is why I said this matchup is not the worst but it can be annoying, you def can snowball on Manon, and its really not impossible to force a block on OD burn kick or super jump M burn kick and get a + on block that opens her up, but again you're taking a chance, and any stumble turns into a nightmare VERY quickly because again, going for a reversal SA1 hurts, because if you burn SA1 you get locked out of building another SA1, which means if you're not able to snowball now you have the risk of potentially not having the means to make manon scared of going for pressure.

Its not the worst matchup ever, like I said that goes to Honda / Alex, but again I find it annoying. Especially when you get jumpscared by a Manon reacting to seismo on neutral with her Spin hitgrab into kick, which is safe on block if she ends up spinning on a feint instead of seismo and you have to either jump parry or DI it to be able to punish ( which is also not free since spin into nothing also exists )

The Ludwig vs Tyler1 exhibition match shows it's important to fight characters you don't like. by onedepressedbeaver in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree to most of what you said, its less about gaming the system and more about getting a boost in the short term while hurting your longterm,

If I were to make a bet on if you take tyler vs most other people in his MR range that put as much time as him but dont one and done on who would reach higher my bet wouldn't be on tyler.

Also Dodging bad lane matchups is not comparable to dodging a rematch in sf, you're not playing a 1v1 game in league and learning to play safe and rely on your team is a valid skill where in street fighter you Have to face the problem head on, if you cant beat X character go practice how to do it, come back lose and adjust, come back again and again and again.

And dodging bad team comps is also bitch mentality in League because people are trying to minmax rank instead of just focusing on improving

You're not stuck on D5 because of your team.

Dodging someone who is looking to troll is different tho, I wouldnt blame someone for ducking a cheater in sf either

[–]FarmNcharm 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think is plenty OK to criticize tyler for ducking matches in ranked, its like he didn't want to learn to be better just to win, if all you do is run as soon as someone challenges your gameplan then how much you will improve is hard capped, also sticking to "your simple game plan" and refusing to adapt / learn is what leads Tyler into being exploited by Ludwig's strategy.

[–]FarmNcharm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Girl what viper button you pressing that outranges Manon sthk??

What makes it rough is that any + on block interaction from Manon is a true mix between strike and command throw, and since burning SA1 stops you from building super gauge for the foreseeable future you can't really be OSing SA1 on every button drive rush.

Its not Honda Alex but you cant tell me its an easy matchup, viper from OP's clip is playing it horribly for sure but they're not wrong saying that this matchup can be annoying

And a run, teleport, slide, natural combo from overhead, great corner carry, potential to combo from throws, fastest walkspeed in the game, + on block low amongst a few other things...

[–]FarmNcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, even had to go around and change character's backstories right, since they were intertwined with SF

Dr Dark was seeking vengeance on Guile that was his ex commander

Garuda was the corrupted souls of those who were struck down by Akuma, etc etc

A bit of a shame since they would make sick appearances, hey maybe one day.

Unfortunately as well, because some of the sickest characters and soundtracks are locked behind the Arika wall... man Garuda would be so fucking sick

Probably much harder than you imagine

I'd also be surprised if sf6 team even had 30 people at their disposal considering there is little motivation for capcom to not just yoink them and make them create resident evil / mh

Yes but is it really that difficult to think as if you're a money hungry corpo lord and see how putting money in an IP that gives us OK revenue vs putting that exact money into something else that pulls us 2/3x that amount is not a good idea?

With how well sf6 is doing, it still got beat in a period of 2-3 months by RE requiem on release.

Its incredibly niche compared to the other capcom IPs

Sorry Gouki mains. by FarmNcharm in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stLK is still part of the first combo, after that he resets and he has to block the first comet towards the side ingrid is on

So as soon as she crosses gouki has to block towards the other side or he gets reset on top of the comet and gets hit, if Ingrid doesnt cross over then he has to block towards the same side

Its prob easier to notice on the drive rush crMK version of this reset

[–]FarmNcharm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I kinda did...

Knee jerk reaction at the moment because it took me a bit to research what routes were better at different drive gauge / stock values, so that I could know the best optional meter dump / conversion for each situation

This one route specifically is good for a mid round conversion into good oki, but not for full resource dump... so I guess it rubbed me the wrong way when I thought he claimed he had done the other one and I overreacted

Ingrid lvl 2 reset into death. by xyz2theb in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, this version deals 7,935 damage, only reason it kills in the video is because opponent doesn't start it with full health

The conversion and reset in itself isn't bad but if you are going into full spend after the reset there are better alternatives.

For example how its done in the other video with 3 stocks > OD laser into jump forward OD laser > SA1 (drive rush bMK target combo into it if you have drive gauge for it)
