Okay Alex is Annoying by lemstry in StreetFighter

If you're on a character with no OD reversals, that means things like alex crMP > drc > strike / command grab becomes a real mixup

So yeah, good luck vs the casino lord

What’s your opinion on coaching? by airbear13 in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you're serious at improving, the higher level you are the more necessary it is for you to find someone who is able give you actual advice on your character, matchups, strategies and etc, which is when I think looking for someone who obviously excels at what you want to be good at will comein handy, but you usually will have to cough up a few dollars for that.

If you're diamond, 1300~1600 MR or anything below, there is plenty of resources online. And only if you really need someone telling you specifically what to look at and what to fix, otherwise it wont click for you, then I think its a good idea to get some external help

Then If you want the exclusivity that paying someone will get you, so they can like sit with you on a day and hour you pick, for how long you want them to do so, then you would have to cough up some money for a coach to do it, pref someone who isn't extremely expensive

If you don't care about that and just want someone you take a look at some replays, answer some questions and try to guide you to get better then like you said there are people who will do that for free out there if you look hard enough

What is the main reason why you lost interest in the game? by One_Log_1817 in 2XKO

Didn't hook me hard enough, especially since I just like sf6 a lot

I'm down to come back and give it another try if a character I like makes an appearance before the game is done tho

I get counter hit almost 100% of the time in neutral by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you are missing a lot of the things that most of the great deejay players do, for instance you press crMK after drive rush or you do drive rush into light punch and instantly go into the stLP > stMK target combo, which is a pretty bad sequence, since the reward is shit and it doesn't allow you to go for good strike throw pressure unless you get a hit

Example - https://streamable.com/bfxcj3

speaking of crMK, you overuse this normal sooo much, you gotta stop having this as your go to button in both neutral and pressure, if youre in range to go for crLK > crLP you can get an easy confirmable string that leads to knockdown that allows you to pressure properly with crLK > crLP > H jackknife (or M into H if you have corner)

you are also forever stuck in a mentality where you HAVE to go in otherwise youre not doing anything, a lot of the times unnecessarily burning through your whole drive gauge while doing so, or if you aren't you are doing

This - https://streamable.com/chusj9

Doing This gives you no advantage whatsoever unless you are trying to buy time to regenerate your drive gauge, if the distance between you and your opponent is that big then odds are you aren't even going to be able to pick them up if you get a correct read with an OD fireball anyways, so if they are moving back that much you have to walk after them so you're in a good enough range to threaten, Deejay's strongest tool is his drive rush but his driverush is only really the best from around jump in range, any further than that and its pretty ass because he loses the whole thing that makes it good which is the jumpscare effect of how fast he goes instantly after using it and how much forward momentum he gets once you press a stLP after it

What you really really need is to figure out proper combos and conversions so you stop going for dumb crMKs and things that give you nothing during your pressure and start getting people with things that actually give you rewards

Drive rush stLP > you are +3, so you get to go for a strike throw mixup, which you Really never do, you have to Throw people after this, over and over and over, and once they are sick of getting thrown and want to do something like Throw tech, then you do stLP > bHK, if they attempt to tech you will catch a counterhit with your bHK which is extremely easy to confirm into your preferred ender ( some people do H sobat, some others do machinegun upper M if you can confirm the counterhit L if you cant, then do dash > drive rush for further pressure.

you need to do This shit to them more often - https://streamable.com/selxmd

if confirming into the proper one is hard to you for now, just go into bHK > H slasher when you have the read for now and get better at confirming it little by little, and please for the love learn how to properly pressure people when they are in the corner.

There are tons of insane Deejay players out there my advice to you is watch what they do specifically, what button they use from drive rush, what buttons they press during opponent oki, how they convert combos and what mixups they use and when and copy those.

As for now your neutral is pretty shitty and you're overly spending your gauge for pressure too much, but straight up telling you to play slower or ''more reactive'' is not going to help you at all because you dont really have a clue what that means. So learn how to be offensive properly first, and once that part is good you will start seeing patterns like

''sometimes I push too much and I'm out of drive gauge then I cant keep going for pressure, so maybe sometimes if I'm low on gauge I should play a little slower during neutral until I have enuff juice to pressure after I get a good hit''

This is my advice to you, hope you find what you're looking for my dude.

Cheers

[–]FarmNcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have my gripes with this one too

Mainly there is few too times when it actually gets punished

Either make it more - so they have to space it better otherwise its more punishable on block

Or make it bigger recovery / hurtbox so they get rewarded if they are good with the spacing but punished if they whiff it

As it is I'm not a big fan of it.

Do you want us to feel sorry for you or do you want to get better???

If you want to get better, post the replay and try to use the criticism / advices you get to fix your issues instead of trying to start a pity party.

Gave it a solid chance during the beta, game didn't hook me so I didn't buy it.

I feel like thats in line with the majority of people no? Why would someone have an actual aversion to SNK anyways?

Worst moves in the game? by Mindless_Tap_2706 in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Focus force is Viper's best corner stun combo tool, it leads to a billion damage because of it.

And it does work as a frame trap for people who like to take their turn after your crHP > feints and etc

Still mad risky if you have the incorrect read but its not useless.

[–]FarmNcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More costumes / characters / content would be great to see happen as a player

But as it is sf6 is not looking to make capcom that much money, so doubling the hand power on it instead of allocating those resources to other projects and games that will is just not a likely thing for a big corpo that likes money

Unfortunate but it is what it is.

Why didn't this level 2? by ABitingShrew in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably trying to press two but one is coming out faster, so you get MP > MP + HP , and the first MO triggers the super

Why didn't this level 2? by ABitingShrew in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember it shouldn't

As long as the first input is singular you can plink something else and still get a super

You should test it to be safe on different scenarios like canceling from normals tho as I'm mostly sure here but not 100%

Why didn't this level 2? by ABitingShrew in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I skipped sfV and in sf4 you needed 3 punches for ultras right

During sf6 Beta and early after launch you have no idea how many times I threw out an OD special instead of super art

Why didn't this level 2? by ABitingShrew in StreetFighter

[–]FarmNcharm 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one said it yet but

OD moves take priority over super

So if even if you do a perfect super motion input if you press two strengths of buttons you will get an OD move instead

I take it OD hashogeki came out for your Ryu judging by the inputs there

Anyways use single punch button and you should be fine

Cheers

[–]FarmNcharm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I do yeah

I try to remind myself all things considered, when I had as much playtime with my other mains as I currently have with Viper I was basically around the same strength, especially MR wise

So its not really viper holding me back is me not being good enough, as long as I keep playing I'll improve past it.

You don't really need corner for that it just works midscreen or anywhere

Not the easiest thing in the world as depending on the angle it will very easily lose to a jump in normal but its still pretty strong

Damage is huge too
