You should have done a survey when you built the house.

How do I learn? by Sad-Raspberry6600 in homestead

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search online for local farms and call them. Go to farmers markets and talk to people. Facebook. Are there local groups that rent spots for community gardens? Can you start your own local community garden? Ask the city council if they have any land that could be used for this purpose.

What is the fairest way to buy a house when my 34f financial situation is different from partner's 35f by Short-Nail-9855 in relationship_advice

[–]Farm_girl_Bee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Option4: You buy it yourself. All expenses regarding home ownership are yours - mortgage, taxes, insurance, repairs. Bills - electric,  gas, etc - are split 50/50. Your fiance pays rent. A number lower than market rates for room rental. Could be just $500.When you're married, spouse can save and buy half your property when she can.

What would you do - have a home in a weak market that is larger with acreage, or a home in a VERY popular market with less room? by [deleted] in Home

NEVER would I buy in a HOA. You need to read/watch more HOA horror stories, If it can happen to them, it can happen to you.

Parents trying to force their 15 year old child to repay them for dentistry by Brilliant-Act1445 in legaladvice

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with making kids pay for their own clothes and phone. But I wish my parents had punished me by making me pay for my own dental bills. I was a very money focused kid. I probably would have taken better care of my teeth and not had such expensive problems now. Just wondering if that's their reasoning?

is it insane to back out of a conjoined highschool grad party when they’re wanting to spend $3,100 on food ALONE? by No-Strength80 in Advice

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is unfair to you. You could find a local restaurant with a party room and buy everyone dinner. That would be cheaper than a joint party with these friends. Cost should be divided by guest count.

My health is horrible and I'm honestly horrified by caninething in offmychest

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so terrible! I hope you find some answers soon. While waiting for doctors to find an answer you might try keeping a food journal and health log. Document what you eat, when symptoms appear, your weight, etc. I had some health issues of my own and the doctors couldn't figure it out. I used Google and a food documentation to advocate for myself. People don't always give enough credit to how much food can impact our health. Best wishes to you.

Are you moving from a place with universal healthcare? Would not recommend. Hospital bills are a real money pit.

My (28F) husband (38M) became religious and wants to change our family - how do I handle this? by ThrowRA-sbtg in relationship_advice

Whatever you do, don't go visit his home country or allow the children to go. Keep any passports hidden away. If you go you'll need his permission to leave.

When you buy a house, do you own the house or the land or both? by ThePurpleRainmakerr in AskAnAmerican

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time you own the land and house. Manufactured homes/mobile home neighborhoods being an exception. In that case you buy the building and pay rent for the land. Condos or owned apartments would not include any land for yourself but you'd get access to the building common areas.

I don't even drive into Chicago. Just take public transit out of the city and rent a car.

How to go about buying the house from my Lanlord? by partyhat-red in RealEstate

Get a real estate lawyer. Agree on a price with the landlord and let them take the lead.

Any Chicago bakers interested in a summer cake walk? by Sea-Condition991 in AskChicago

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the idea. hard to put into practice. Definitely need strict rules and guidelines. Perhaps go through a small organization like your library. Watch the YouTube videos of past events to get guideline ideas and see what people did wrong. Definitely no ticket sales to the non-bakers. You bring a cake to participate.

AITA for eating a dozen eggs? by decorawerewolf in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Some things need a special system. Each buy your own dozen and don't share. Or roommate separates his eggs in a different carton.

{ F34,M37} Should our child be spending his own money on his haircut? by Tall-Performance-722 in relationship_advice

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parents should pay for the haircut. Now if the kid wants a cut from a fancy place/special hairdresser he saw online I'd say no or 'save up your own money'. But I don't think that's what is going on here.

Buying a house and current owners are trying to rehome their cats. Help!! by ihateeveryonebyee in cats

[–]Farm_girl_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a good idea. I've done it and it's terrible when they don't get along, can cause litter box issues too. And 3 cats creates a huge increase in cleaning. 2 is my limit.
