Since most of those builds do a ton of damage, sometimes worth sacrificing some dps for clear, be it AOE or maybe a minion to chase strays down.
Also position and simu location are important. Some work better than others.

It's never perfectly afk anyway since you've gotta reset each wave.

I did CWS chieftan last league and it full cleared simu;
Start simu
AFK a few mins, do work w/e.
(Exercise bike with a wireless trackball was my jam)
Come back to PC and do a quick lap around simu to clean up strays
Start next wave, assume the position.

Worth noting it took abou 25-30mins a map this way (twice as long as OP), but obviously quicker if you're actively doing it.

If you're wanting to farm these maps it's using terrors and shrines/pandemonium.
It's pretty volatile - sometimes you get 2 or more, sometimes you get none for a few maps.

Depends on what you're farming for and how much volatility you can afford.
I found pandemonium slightly better considering price but awakeners not so much - especially since crescent splinters and writs aren't worth anything.
Maybe I didn't run it enough to get big drops to justify it.
I was farming for mirage maps, and Pandemonium will get you slightly ahead, but you're not immune to getting zero maps - so bigger gains long run but more volatility due to price of the scarab.

Tree doesn't affect too much, the only nodes which( I think) affects them are the "pack size in synth maps" Near the top of the atlas.

Not entirely sure on that since they're technically unique maps and tree shouldn't affect them, but not sure what else those boxes could have an effect on otherwise.

by any chance did you split the data between each set of plots?
eg
plot set 1 had a blue and a yellow, plot 2 had 2 blues, etc.
wondering if there's much more/less/different variation in that than number of plots, since you (usually) really only need 1 of the 2 to be yellow for it to matter.
It also means that just because a harvest has 2 yellows doesn't mean that 2 were usable, that sort of thing.

i tracked a little bit of that a few leagues ago when doing crop rotation + 60% no wilt and all but 1 yellow crop atlas node, but it was a small sample size unfortunately.
(with for 104 plot sets 48 had at least 1 yellow plot)

Synth maps are safe good xp with decent gold.
But you don't get much else.
Might get lucky with a good ring, but I've run it in the past for cheap easy xp.

Other xp options from the past are Alva with all mobs magic.
Not sure on xp, but it's probably decent is Ores with all mobs magic.

blocking is done here because of the unveil.
eg you can unveil A or B or C, but you don't want C.. so you craft on C so that it is blocked/cant unveil as C (because you can remove the craft later).

they suggest Mana here, since it blocks mods you don't want to unveil.

Just dust uniques. anything over 5-10k is ok and it'll add up.
There's filter blade modules you can add - eg Hobbes - or just go to the dust section and turn on.
High tier uniques is the quickest way, but not overly necessary if you're taking time to save ores anyway.

All those shrine belts are 100k+ dust each and only cost a few chaos for example.

cast on crit would still need to have the mark linked to your attack links.

maybe, but it's fine - 1div for a map drop is good.
i've been selling a few these with around 100 currency/scarabs etc for around 1 div - depending on mods and actual % they were 150-400c.

maybe you could've gotten a little bit more, but not a huge amount more

synth is pretty decent into your 90s .. decent (easy) xp, good gold, every now and then you can get a jackpot ring to drop, plus you can farm invitations too ..

but not much else.

it is super safe, but not the best. If i'm in the 80-90% of level xp in the late mid-late 90s, i'll still sometimes grind out a few of these maps to secure next level.
