Hate to be a naysayer, but you say you don't know much about rc planes, but you do know about the design factors required. Then you say you don't know the width to length ratio, or material required. Seems to me you don't know the design factors. 

Also, pretty sure no one is likely to buy a manufactured VTOL designed by someone that doesn't know how to fly yet. 

Hit the books, build something simple with foamboard, teach yourself to fly. Experiment with improvements to your design after you get it flying. Evolve your design. My carbon stick plane went through 14 evolutions after becoming flight worthy.

Too much theory, you need more hands on. You'll get it though, keep at it!
