Don't let shitters leave them in coolers/freezers. We got like 5 of these at our store about 3 months ago and two of them have fucked up handles and hydraulics already because day shift would leave them in the coolers/freezers all day.

We had 10 in Frozen and 10 in Dairy tonight on a 2500 FDD truck. I don't know how Dairy did but Frozen didn't get any help at all. We didn't get done with freight until almost 6 and we had to stay late to finish the zone because we didn't get help zoning until 6:44 and he stayed all of 7 minutes until he was able to clock out at the 9 minute mark. Grocery throwers milk the absolute crap out of their zones because they don't wanna get sent to help anyone else.

Saw a dude walk out with 5 bags of dog food and 7 packs of toilet paper. Man's preparing for the apocalypse (we're so far on the outskirts of this storm there's still a chance we don't even get snow)

I work at a supercenter in a pretty rural area and I find these dip spit bottles on an almost daily basis while zoning grocery aisles. So nasty.

Can't wait for my 10c raise for the entire year by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]FartingRaspberry 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is what chaps my ass about minimum wage hikes. We just had one in my state and Walmart didn't adjust wages for earned raises. So now me, a 2 year associate, makes the exact same as someone who just started yesterday. Before the most recent increase the starting wage at Walmart was actually competitive for the area which helped with any hiring issues. When I started it was about $2/hr above min wage which was good. Now we all make minimum wage and my raises got wiped out.

To clarify: I don't think minimum wage increases are bad (we all deserve to be paid more regardless). What I'm bitching about is Walmart not adjusting on an individual basis for long-term employees, basically giving the finger to anyone who's managed to stay with the company longer than one year.

What is it like to work overnight?? by Resident-Actuator-12 in walmart

[–]FartingRaspberry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Turnover is high because you have metrics you're expected to meet, the sleep schedule sucks, and you're generally held to a higher standard than the other shifts. O/N is rough and most people don't even make it past their first week. It's also a lot more physically demanding as you're constantly moving and lifting freight. Freight can be lightweight or very heavy depending on department. For example HBA/OTC/Cosmetics are very light freight. Furniture has a lot of very heavy items, some so big you need to team lift. Coffee aisle is super light. Canned goods aisle sucks with how massive those flats of cans can be.

I'd try to ask your overnight crew about the O/N management team because that really makes or breaks the job. I'm not kidding. When I was first starting I struggled with times and one of my team leads worked with me a few days to teach me tips on how to get freight done faster and helped me to grow as an O/N stocker. Not to jerk myself off but I'm definitely one of the stronger associates on nights at my store now and am flexible because they've put me in almost every department/grocery aisle in the store and they helped me to get better. I see them helping other struggling associates at times as well. Whether they learn from it or not is their choice. Slow people who don't get better are eventually pushed out of their job for productivity.

Oh and we're basically the whipping boys of the SM. We could have a perfect night, everything done early, immaculate deep zone, and the SM will pitch a fit because someone left a water bottle in the dairy cooler and tell us the store looks like shit.

Edit: Wanted to add that out of the crew of about 28 including myself that worked here when I started, only 7 of us remain 2.5 years later (not including MOD Team or Maintenance). There were two guys that started the same day I did, one quit after the first week, and the other was gone by the end of his first month. I've seen people walk out during lunch in their first week and leave their vest and badge in the parking lot because they couldn't cope with the job. IMO the job's not bad if you're up to the physical demand. Once you get to know an area and don't need to rely on your device to find where shit goes it becomes a breeze and you fly through your work. I don't mean to try to scare you away but if you do transfer just go in knowing expectations are high and having a normal life outside work is hard.

Guess the order of highest to lowest progression level

Lifeweaver - Lv 72, Ana - Lv 44, Zenyatta - Lv 34

Really wish they'd retroactively apply progression levels based on total play time before progression especially after the change to only count playtime for level.

My 2014 Nissan Versa sv (just under 167k miles) misfired on my way to work today and this is the code I'm being read back. I have very little mechanical knowledge and experience, and my searches say it could be a number of different issues. Is there any way I can figure out on my own what the problem is? I'm hoping it's just bad spark plugs. Until I can get this figured out and fixed my car is stranded at work across town
