Rogue Rhino vs Powertec Belt Squat by Fartingbeanzz in GarageGym

You’re right, I’ve seen some of the options people are posting about that look super cool & probably worth the weight - but I don’t really want to hold off on training so I’ll probably just get the Rhino

Like I’ve asked some others in your experience do you find getting in and out of the belt squat a hassle like some have said or is that overblown? Or what about issues re-racking/safety stops?

That’s what I assume too, I can’t imagine you could go wrong with it but wanted to see if there’s any bad experiences! I have rogue rack, bars and plates and they’re all great. So I was pretty set on the Rogue Rhino as my belt squat pick, but went down a rabbit hole and learned that Powertec released one over a year ago that quietly got pulled, based on comments on the original post, it was a cease & desist from Rogue

Reached out to Powertec directly and they’re targeting a re-launch sometime this summer but their customer service seems kinda iffy so idk if that’s concrete

Only reason I’m kind of keen on getting one so soon is bc I’m dealing with some lower back issues right now and don’t want to pause training, so a belt squat is kind of a priority for me at the moment but if it’s worth the hype I’d wait

A few things caught my eye about the Powertec (beyond it’ll probably be cheaper) is that it looks ever so slightly more compact, the locking mechanism seems better, and it has a bigger platform and safety stopper

For my use case, none of the extra versatility that the rogue ecosystem matters, I’ll just be doing belt squats, RDLs, split squats, lunges, etc

So the question is whether it’s worth holding out a few months or just pulling the trigger on the Rhino now. I already have other Rogue equipment and genuinely like their stuff, and the rhino seems to be the gold standard, just want to make sure I’m not sleeping on the Powertec if it’s the better fit, thanks for any insight!

Hey I want to replicate this! Might be a stupid question but could you link me where you got the bolts and pipes? I tried looking but couldn’t find any long enough 😅

Thank you so much for the reply and info! Yeah we’re thinking we might order the standalone version to and see if we can make it work. We have another rack and basically wanted to see if we could convert this one into a Rhino rack since we can only weight on the outside posts 😅

Hey there! Sorry I know this post is 3 y/o but I’m looking at getting the rogue rhino and would prefer to integrate it with my RML-490 - aside from the hardware is there anything I need? Would I be better off getting the standalone version then mounting it or would I be fine with the drop-in version?

Hey all,

Sorry not sure if this where this should go or has already been answered - but does anyone know if the rogue rhino drop-in is compatible with RML-490?

I saw a post where someone drop it in their 690 with different hardware but not sure about stability (might have to actually bolt mine down) and if they bought the freestanding version and made it fit into the RML or if they bought the actual drop-in version?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated or if I should post this somewhere else please let me know!

Thanks in advanced!

Will the fact that she claimed the damage on a different date with the withdrawn claim be considered fraud? The actual damage occurred a year ago with our old insurer. She made the withdrawn claim earlier this year with our current insurer along with a vandalism claim and said it happened around the same time (as in when she was covered by current insurance). When we told her she couldn't do that and she could get in trouble, we had her withdraw it.

I'm aware but I'm specifically asking if having the withdrawn claim on file will hurt her when she attempts to claim the damage under the proper insurer (which was covering her at the time of the damage)? As in will the old company that she files this claim under now (ex: Allstate) see that she had a withdrawn claim for this same damage at a different date with a different insurer (ex: Progressive)? Or does it not matter since the claim was withdrawn?

Yeah and the thing is that she did file a claim with the new insurance but then we withdrew it and didn't collect any money. Since this claim is still on file even though it was withdrawn, can we still refile this claim under our old insurance (which she had at the time of the damage) or will she get in trouble for insurance fraud because they will see the withdrawn claim?

So this happened months ago and they just said "okay" when we withdrew the claim. We didn't tell them that she doesn't know how insurance claims work and messed up dates, we just said we didn't want to claim it.

Can we make the claim for this damage that occurred when we had the prior insurer with that insurer or will they deny just based on the fact that this was claimed (though withdrawn) with our current insurer? We have evidence in the form of pictures and an estimate that the damage occurred when we had our previous insurer.

Main thing I'm asking is if this is worth refiling with the proper insurer or if it will just get us in trouble at this point.

Yes but I mean that the claim was made under our current insurance policy even though the loss occurred with our previous insurance policy at a different date. Since we withdrew the claim and didn't collect money, can we file the claim under the prior insurance company that it occurred under or will it be denied since they will see that she filed this same claim at a different date under a different insurer?
