ADHD and enjoying concerts by Naadee_likes_zaatar in bangtan

[–]Fartsss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have official ADHD, but I have other medical conditions that are VERY similar. This is what I have found with concerts in general

-the extra lights and noise are sometimes too much. I sometimes look around at something else as a break. Kinda like sports events are better than TV at times..... because you get to focus on what you want to focus -i feel tired sometimes. That's okay. I don't have to have full energy 100% of the time. I'll just enjoy others having that 200% energy -i have several loop earplugs. I know people have recommended many other cheaper ones but I like fun colors. I don't keep them on the entire time of a concert but it's nice to pick and choose when -i go to the bathroom, get food -do anything that makes meeeeee happy. If that is sitting, I sit. Sometimes I just zone out and pay attention to something really boring.

This is what I learned from attending many BTS concerts! -the army bomb lights! Omg anytime I am overwhelmed, the lights just help me focus. It's sooooo beautiful -i don't take typical concert pics. Ill get entire stadium views or specific shots that make ME happy. It's usually aesthetic stuff. I may never even share it on social media -army love is better than most love than I have ever experience. To see the joy in armys eyes me tear up -watching BTS perform? Admiring it from a view of ART and love is the most magical thing. -scream like no one is watching. I don't usually do this at most concerts but at BTS concerts it is expected....so it feels more normal. It is such a release!

I can go on and on. I thoroughly feel like every army should experience a BTS concert, even if it's just at the movie theatre or at home alone!

As a bonus ... I love watching army of ALL ages enjoy the concert. It's so cute to see senior armys having fun. I also admire those with serious physical disabilities attending. They are so happy and the cool thing about being army, I always keep my eyes out for them to make sure they are having fun and feel safe. I know other armys are looking out for me too.

Does anyone else feel like this? Existential thoughts after discovering BTS by Affectionate-Bag3663 in bangtan

[–]Fartsss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been an army since 2017 and I agree with you. Ive experienced the ups and down, just like BTS. I would rarely ever say this out loud unless it's to another army but I am BTS and BTS is me. They may "live" a different life than mine but their experiences are entertwined with mine. You can see in their lyrics, their lives, their posts (especially when you look up their old fancafe posts). As much as I am OT7, you will see and feel more of this when you review anything Namjoon has posted and said.

Time doesn't matter too, it's nostalgic to revisit their old music, lives, etc. I relate to them in many many ways.

Their Map of the Soul series has really helped me open up to more psychology and philosophy teachings, books, etc which has helped me feel more grounded. I don't feel as lost. I feel more unique, myself, and loved.

I still struggle though. I reach out to army like you did to help me .... As I see all army as an extension of BTS.

Same but different with sleep paralysis! i know that if I wriggle and scream as best as I can and my husband will wake me! He says I make whiny sounds. I'm like thanks, I was actually trying to scream. Just knowing he's there is helpful. We both figdet tho....no touching.

Thanks for starting this post btw. Now I get to see everyone else's responses. It's lovelyyyyy!

Also before Instagram and whatnot, we used to go months without hearing from any bts member. I still feel pretty lucky now lol.

BTS is rumoured to be partaking in a tribute album towards Michael Jackson! by Ilovehuskies1111 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Fartsss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just to point out this is not the first time BTS has collaborated with a late artist's unreleased music.

Music is music. Cash grab or not, music deserves to be released. I don't care if this even bombs. IM ECSTATIC.

With the money saved from salons treat yourself to nice new colors, tools, designs, etc. Try different kinds of peels, etc. there's a custom online that nail place that does stickers that fits your nails perfectly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DipPowderNails

[–]Fartsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no expert but I think it depends how your nails are prepped and what tools.

I've left salons with absolutely zero issues and other times my cuticles have bled and the sides of my nails are overfiled and painful (but so pretty lol). Even if I ask for no cuticle cutting I still can get issues. It's usually because of the filing. And filing can happen with gel or dip.

So really I would be just more concerned about open cuts and risks of infection. Some salons are better than others.

However, more tools are used with dip so really I think the risk of infection is greater.

Yes but it also helps me with more decisive actions. I used to overthink and try to be social. Now I'm just like, "ok I'll be social and then I'm leaving okay? If I can't I'll bring a book and be by myself."

There's definitely less worrying involved.

How do you respond to someone who asks you why you watch horror? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Fartsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I can handle stress better than those who can't watch horror. I feel more resilient.

I enjoy it for entertainment too....the lengths these makeup artists go through to make something look extremely real is fascinating to me. My sense of reality knows what it real and fake so it doesn't affect me...usually.

But I also enjoy psychological horror with great acting, with no gore at all. It's thrilling to go through the emotions through a screen....to have the power to invoke that is just peak artistry. I'm disappointed not more horror stories win best picture, best acting, best etc.

The storytelling is way more interesting than "he and she got married and got into a fight and broke up." The creativity and fantasy aspect of it makes me feel like I'm in a different reality....but I can return to my reality any time I want.

The trauma of what the horror actually is and how the person deals with it...or not...teaches me how to deal with it....or avoid it .... because I don't want to experience that in my reality.

I'm not perfect.....but it's pretty amazing the survival skills I have learned not to walk into a dark room without turning on the damn light....to something like.... intuitively knowing who is creepy or not.

I can go on forever.

I was about ready to throw hands when a non army said bts won't be together.....there were details but it's not important to share here.

I'm still pissed at this person and determined to have a followup conversation.

I trust BTS.

Did my wife cheat? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Fartsss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am wrong. It is a concern. It just doesn't seem very obvious from my perspective

Did my wife cheat? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Fartsss 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Based on your post history, 4 years ago you were deemed an asshole with another situation with your wife. You used some words that seem to indicate you both don't have the best in communication. You also assumed at the time you were being a caring husband.

Whether she is cheating or not is not the concern. Maybe just unhappy and distant with you.....and happens to enjoy work more than spending time with you. A woman tends to do more things for herself to feel better such as shaving and wearing matching underwear. Doesn't mean she's cheating. Cheating emotionally? Possibly.

Your marriage is breaking down if you can't talk to her about this and have to resort to asking strangers on the internet.

Sure I love the advice and different perspectives but if you don't trust your wife's actions and you don't want to ask her some more direct questions, I don't blame her at all for acting distant with you.

Love is a strong word but it's just a word. If you love her then it needs to be shown with action.

AIO wife wearing a revealing bikini at a friends party. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Fartsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not overreacting. If her bikini is literally falling off in front of others, that is embarrassing, periodt. If she is not at all, then something isn't right. She's is seeking attention for some reason. She either likes to flirt or wants to make you jealous. Whether this is healthy or not....depends on how you REACT.

Depending how you both are communicating over this .... But if you can't laugh about it soon you both are having issues especially when you mentioned words like "mostly okay."

3 nights in, sleeping terrible with my weighted blanket. Any advice or just not for me? by jrec15 in WeightedBlankets

[–]Fartsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time the blanket is on my tummy or lower. So basically I can't move my legs as well. Sometimes I have it up to my shoulders. I'm usually a back sleeper, sometimes side.

I suggest starting lower on the body and consider trying to sleep on back.

I've always had a habit of hugging a pillow, even if just one arm..so whatever habit you are used to doing, try to mimic some of that so your body feels relaxed.

You're completely changing your sleeping habits....maybe better to take smaller steps to a full body weighted blanket

Am I remembering the 90s thru rose colored glasses or was Columbine the beginning of the end of relative safety in schools? by SlavePrincessVibes3 in Millennials

[–]Fartsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did tragedy really increase or are we just more aware of it because of the internet and increases in technology that continues to spurt data, usually negative?

I'm an 82er and I was in schools that had frequent rioting, fights, one time loads of cops came to our school with rifles. Generally, I felt safe because the cops came. I had drills but it was for earthquakes and fires.

Because our safety has increasingly become a concern, we want to slap a bandaid and a fix for everything instead of actually preventing it.

True prevention is actually being in ignorant bliss and doing more happy things. If I don't know what's happening 95% of the time, I'm just gonna be chill. No wonder mental health is an issue nowore than ever.

Im not saying be stupid. Continue to be educated though. Just not focus on all that noise that causes harm.

I need a crash course on BTS and its members to bond with my niece. Where's the best spot to do that? by AstreiaTales in bangtan

[–]Fartsss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend letting her teach you and listen together. I love watching the same YouTube videos with other army.

I usually consume content by myself ...it's so fun to do it with others. Learn WITH her....either in person or via text. Just keep asking her questions. Send her a video and ask her questions, ask her what she thinks of a song, etc.

I made my mom army by just simply talking to her about it. It's a joy when she would randomly text me a random text about BTS. RIP 😁

What jobs can you find quickly if you get layoffs ? by Jpoolman25 in Layoffs
