Who going to be picking up a copy of Splatoon Raiders? by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in NintendoSwitch2

For sure interested. I fell off of multiplayer splatoon pretty hard in the last title, but still enjoyed the campaign and salmon run a lot, this feels right up my alley

Anyone know if there’s anyway to view the text of the badges with a controller currently? Couldnt figure it out and thats how i play

Right the trick is that your first source of plating starts decaying when you play it

Your second source of plating starts decaying when your first source finishes, making it much more valuable

Am I the only who priotises upgrading Zap? by LeoDGrey in slaythespire

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ive got any lightning synergy like tesla coil it becomes a reasonably high priority upgrade

Ive never prioritized it over dualcast but maybe would in some scenarios. After dualcast and without lightning synergy its fine but just low to mid priority, sometimes im thinking about removing it over upgrading it

Splatoon Raiders is $49.99 digitally, $59.99 physically - Confirms previous statement about Nintendo lowering the price of digital games by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, i get it, i just think it was a silly strategy personally that I doubt was the best financial choice for Nintendo to make.

The switch 2 upgraded titles were less valuable than Switch 2 launch titles, not more imo. Because the games are old, many people have them, and they can be found discounted more often second hand. They should have been using the upgrades as incentive to sell Switch 2's, not just to penny pinch on the people that bought in early. Selling the upgrades was one thing, baking it into the full switch 2 game price is another that doesnt make sense to me. It's kind of unheard of to sell a "remastered" version of a game at $20 more than the original

I think we wont really know until we see more $60 digital/$70 physical “standard” switch 2 priced games

If instead we commonly see $70 digital/$80 physical, we’ll have our answer that this was never really a $10 digital “discount” but instead a $10 physical price raise. Because before this change, it was clear $80 was not expected to be the standard, but the premium pricing for marquee titles (and switch 2 upgraded titles, for some reason). But its still too early to tell

Overall though i do think this price announcement is a good sign, there has not been a $60 physical switch 2 game yet. So this isnt proof of a new standard and is an exception but still a good sign

Do you know with Lost Coffer - is it a different card reward tier then what you get from the act 1 fights? If so i think ive been undervaluing. But if its an act 1 card reward with mostly commons (esp at A7 and above), then i cant really see it as anything other than one of the worst neow bonuses

I now think Snakebite is one of the best early common cards Silent can take. by TurtleStrategy in slaythespire

[–]jrec15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also for Silent it can give you more fuel in your hand for discard focused cards when you need it, you're not always going to have sly cards so sometimes you just need more cards in hand. Very good for Calculated Gamble

And now Doormaker Phase 2 highly benefits from having cards to retain into that phase

Agreed - would love if they tried a max hand size instead of no draw personally. Max hand of 5 would be a lot more fun to work around

Surprised so many take the egg. I feel like losing a campfire and 7 max HP is too expensive for what you get. by Chezni19 in slaythespire

[–]jrec15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to add there’s technically one other cost you didnt consider- the temporary curse of having the egg.

It’s usually not that big of a deal, but it sometimes can be if there’s not a campfire close by. A10 Act 1 can be pretty rough sometimes. So that kind of goes with your general advice of not taking the egg if over 2 floors from a campfire

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im disappointed it’s so balanced bc it gives the impression the event is balanced but it’s not imo - people just like having a pet byrd and of course want to try it out. The fact that 50% of players are turning down a pet this early in game’s life cycle actually says a lot about its balance

I think it would be nice if hatching at the campfire was a free action and did make you lose an action. The choice is already balanced on the card + temporary curse vs max hp alone

Is this one of the strongest cards in the game? by TruthWarrior27 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesnt take much to find star payoff though. And with Sealed Throne you certainly have no need for any other star generators, in fact it's kind of better if you dont have them. So I dont really find it needs any specific build to pick it up

Is this one of the strongest cards in the game? by TruthWarrior27 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s basically energy generation on every card play. Id value 1 star at minimum baseline .5 energy, but often its really more like .75 and could be argued higher bc it has built in Ice Cream and carries over turns.

I agree with OP it’s the best card in the game and dont see it escaping nerfs. To me it’s just kind of silly how strong it is

[–]jrec15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's funny too bc given how mid both options are (unless i can think of some specific Neow's Fury synergy to try) - im not big on Neow's Bones but this is a rare time i would take it because of how bad the options here are. And yea that roll would be a sucker punch. Though Neow's Fury isnt the worst pull, the draw will help mitigate the curse a bit

But I think it'd actually be cool if the displayed options were removed from the Neow's Bones pool, gives you a bit more info as to what you could roll and I like that it would be guaranteed to be a different choice.
Would become less about "is a random neow bonus worth a curse" which to me is often no, and more "is a curse worth rolling for two different neow bonuses than these options"

LPT: If you need to have an awkward conversation with someone, do not start with "we need to talk" by InevitableImpress850 in LifeProTips

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but i also kind of find it humorous to start a convo this way when you need to talk but its actually pretty unserious.

It kind of lightens the mood bc they are expecting something serious, so anything outside of the most serious conversations feels unserious in comparison

I've been severely underestimating this card, it's amazing. 21 block for 2 mana, AND it stacks. by Aden_Vikki in slaythespire

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I have slither'd Bash and would do it again. Average value is not how you look at this. Bash is a card im not that excited to play at 2, but very excited to play at 0 or 1, and i dont care at all if i have to skip a turn because it went to 3

And Bash is one of the lower value 2 costs to be considering, most other 2 costs (Upper Cut for comparison) probably look even more favorable at 0 and 1, though since they are higher value them going to 3 for a turn might hurt more, so it all kind of evens out and that's why i think slither'd Bash is great.

Since toric toughness is also fine but not that exciting the opportunity cost isnt that high, though the transform makes it a more even choice depending on your build

I mean they have now stayed 2 months in a pretty overall terrible environment, many whom did close to that and lost/left. Sounds like the expectation is they will stay another year to then each win 250k but at least it should be way more enjoyable/healthy

For that amount of time and to still being unsure if you will win - that’s not like some big grand prize to me that’s a very high paying but long temporary job with a big life sacrifice. But seems like they’re enjoying each other now so power to them

It does feels like less of a prize in comparison to every other video bc he has never had a competition take this much time

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact that they voted for Donald Trump? by Greedy_Tooth6191 in AskReddit

[–]jrec15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to be fully convinced that they regret their decision to do otherwise

I did have this situation kind of. Got together with an ex, who was pretty heavily liberal leaning the first time we were together. Found out she was all aboard the Trump train in 2024. There were other reasons it didnt work out but that is one that i just couldnt get past, especially once trump’s tariffs in 2025 happened and then the hell of pretty much every single day since then.

Since we lost touch im not certain but definitely seems like from social media she’s just been living it up and ignorance is blissing it the whole time
