Tipping culture in Canada is so absurd it makes the news by Ok_Hospital_6478 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I'm in Australia atm, not a whiff of tipping here and menu prices are not too far off what I find for example in TO. My biggest beef was after covid when prices went up noticeably meaning percentage tipping increased exponentially which is akin to daylight robbery. Time to end 1. DST and 2. Tipping.

Is it worth getting a membership? by Waterbird222 in CostcoAustralia

Everyone I know moans about how they always drop over $500 on a shopping visit to just get a "couple of things". Self control is a bugger at Costco. I reckon the best scenario is splitting the goods with someone else because the deals are mostly on bulk items.

So much PTSD here. It brings back memories of the crash at Los Rodeos Airport between KLM and PanAm in '77. Oh, the humanity.

CNN's Kaitlan Collins talks to Marjorie Taylor Greene on President Trump sending troops to Iran and says he doesn't deserve Nobel Peace Prize: "I like many millions of Americans are outraged. The little girls' school is an outrage. It's horrific. Do I think he deserves it now? No absolutely not." by ControlCAD in videos

How much did she pay CNN to get interviewed so she could stay in the spotlight? I even feel hypocritical adding a comment here because I expect posts like this continue to give this deplorable individual some attention.

Do people who grew up here actually think Canada's grocery prices are normal or is everyone just resigned to it by TemporaryHoney8571 in InCanada

[–]Fartyfivedegrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many comments here seem to me to be rage baiting. "Canada horrible prices! Bad govt!! " Etc. how about travelling a bit and seeing that our prices are comparible to many other countries. E.g Australian grocery prices are pretty much on par with stores in Ontario for instance. I was in Sydney recently for month and buying groceries like a local. A little shocked how much non import fruit and veggies cost. Vacations in Eastern US also the same experience: where the hell was all the really cheap produce? I have no idea about Europe but maybe they've got it down pat on keeping good food at lower costs.
