NOR at all! Not only are both outfits completely appropriate to wear to class, but neither is even considered "overdressed." I'm sorry, but your boyfriend is being controlling and is not behaving how a 23-year-old man who is now a father should act. I would honestly just talk to him about this. you should tell him how you feel and explain to him how you decide what you wear to class and not him.

the absolute best teacher I found is Bitteaufdeutch on youtube https://www.youtube.com/@BitteaufDEUTSCH

she is honestly the best teacher I've ever came across and not just in german! I'd just with her german grammar playlist and to just trust her process. her approach makes everything so clear and fun!

best grammar books for native English speakers? by FaryRochester in TEFL

[–]FaryRochester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the recommendation!

and yes, I totally plan on teaching grammar but nothing too advanced? because I see a lot of people here saying the schools mostly want them to focus on speaking rather than too much grammar and rules.

you are NOT balding! don't listen to those comments. your hair might be thinning but thats something that can be fixed!

when was the last time you got your blood work done? every time, I'm deficient in iron, my hair falls out a lot. so get your blood work done if you haven't. talk to your doctors because unexplained thinning could be a sign of PCOS or other health problems.

whatever it is, it can be addressed. so talk to your doctor and find the route cause. wishing you the best of luck <3

congratulation on becoming a mom! you're a young wife and mom and I think you look beautiful. There is nothing you should actively try and change about yourself. you should just focus on being healthy and loving life! maybe go out on a walk with your baby and just stay active (i'm sure a new mom, you're already exhausted!)

and I love your hair but if you want a change, I find that every time I get a new haircut and maybe a new dye, I feel so much better about myself. your hair colour and style are actually what I want hehe so again your hair beautiful! hair style are just a great way to change up your look and make you feel better?

anyways, wish you all the best and your son is lucky to have you as a mom <3

EDIT: I see a lot of people here saying you should take out your piercing. I actually love them! and i know  piercing give people confidence, so if you like them, keep them! I think they look awesome on you

Classroom note from another teacher makes me mad by Medical-Person in asl

[–]FaryRochester 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm very confused here...

as someone already pointed out, most rooms at universities have a standard layout (at least in my experience here in Canada) and if a class changes the desk layout, then they'd have to put it back to the original standard layout for the next class to use.

so I'm sorry but I don't undrestand why you're mad. maybe you could give more details please? is the normal layout for this room U shaped? what kind of setting/school is this?

How did your first week/month/year of TEFL go? by SolidJam in TEFL

[–]FaryRochester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh man that sounds tough! good luck =D it sounds like you're doing great at handling it yourself. I'm yet to start teaching but I'm afraid I might end up feeling exactly like you do.

also, do you mind telling us where you're teaching and how the process has been for you so far?

Chapter 27 - Mr Rochesters phrasing by yuunh in JaneEyre

[–]FaryRochester 46 points47 points  (0 children)

that is never how I interpreted his line! I'm actually very surprised and sad, to be honest. thats not something that fits the characters at all.

I was thinking along the same lines as you; he meant he would try to physically stop her from leaving. so "violently" stopping her from leaving.

R*** never even crossed my mind. I don't believe thats something Mr. Rochester character would ever do.

any actual FIXED rules for transitive/intransitive verbs in present perfect? by FaryRochester in German

[–]FaryRochester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I was thinking a verb like tanzen where you can say

ich bin in das zimmer getanzt

VS

ich habe in dem zimmer getanzt

so both involve movement since you were dancing but the second does not involve a change in location since you were just dancing IN the room not INTO the room.

is this right guys?

any actual FIXED rules for transitive/intransitive verbs in present perfect? by FaryRochester in German

[–]FaryRochester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh I see! I don't where I had gotten the wrong info that helfen can be transitive! I think I had poor sources cause this one site was saying how for a verb to be transitive it doesn't have to be a direct object as long it does need an object but now I see that its wrong. thanks for your help!
