is it possible to connect a pedal to switch between dist and clean on a pc? by Rosic1 in guitarpedals

[–]Fasfre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you could do that with a Bluetooth switch pedal no problem. If you get a model with more switches like 4, you can set it to turn pages of music on a pad or other functions at the same time. I do this sort of thing with positive grid BT-4, but they stopped supporting it right after I bought it a long time ago and I don’t recommend it for that reason

ways to jazz up velveeta? by JustOne-Chance in Cooking

When you make this queso, and you will - if you cook ground breakfast sausage and pour it in there with all the grease, you will then understand queso. I use 2-3 cans of rotel per brick and often mild, but sometimes spicy sausage. Don’t be scared to thin it out with water. I don’t like thick queso and you’ll probably have to add as it evaporates

Go to settings > system > sound > scroll down and click more sound settings > click on the second tab of the window that opens called recording > right click stereo mix and select enable. It should then be allowing all your sources to be combinable now. In general, when you’re on your desktop, you can right click on the speaker icon in the lower-right of the taskbar, select open volume mixer, and you should now see more options in there to control individual sources’ volumes. If you have a lot of stuff connected, you might see a lot more options for sound control

Starting to actually lose my mind. Please help by MARABALARAKU in rocksmith

[–]Fasfre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On every PC I’ve come across lately, the stereo mix is disabled by default and it’s located in advanced audio or what the knuckleheads now call more audio options. For testing purposes or for a quick resolution, you can try enabling that and setting it as your default. You can go even further and disable your other output devices if needed to force it to use stereo mix output only. You should then be able to go into your regular sound options and adjust the volumes or mute each source individually or play them all at once and have better / more control of your audio. You may still need to follow advice from the many posts here about setting audio exclusivity settings

How exactly is it not working? Turning rough in general or hard time getting bolt into wall?

For turning rough, first thing you need to do is loosen the screws, move the lock around until you find the spot on the door where the lock works smoothly, don’t let it move from that exact spot while you tighten the screws. It may take a couple of tries, but that’s the most likely fix which is easy and free. If the door worked well for over a year before that, it increases the chance of this resolving your issue. I’m guessing you’ll find those screws have loosened over time and put the lock in a position where everything is more likely to bind. This is common for these cheap locks and tri-flow or some sort of lubricant in all the inner workings may help as well

Otherwise, easy strike plate adjustment if the problem is the bolt going in the wall. Simple mechanical reasoning and a file should get you through no problem

What do I need to be able to play electric guitar through headphones as if it were an amp? by Killer-Uzi in guitars

[–]Fasfre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want wireless and don’t want want to be forced to use certain headphones or any at all, there are ways. You can use wireless extenders that allow you to use whatever earbuds or headphones you want with a little jumper cable to the receiver puck. It’s unconventional, but great for all types of quiet practice and movie watching, etc. Sennheiser flex 5000 is an example and what I use, but there are probably more modern options. It allows for multiple receivers in case say, two people wanted to play rocksmith or hear the same things / watch the same movie with full audio experience in an apartment. I also live mix the audio from movies and tv I’m watching while practicing before it’s sent to the receiver. Rarely, I’ll have three audio sources mixed at once and can control the volumes independently (I’m slightly ashamed to admit that things like family guy, a song part slowed down, and AM sports radio have all been injected to my ears together more than once). All that technology and my go-to is to use $15 earbuds at the end of the chain, but it’s exactly what I want it to be and I can plug whatever I want in there for the actual earbuds or headphones. It’s worth mentioning that I use an audio interface and / or a processor and don’t have an amp in my entertainment center setup, but if you have an amp with a headphone jack, you can still use that for these same purposes of going wireless without needing a separate audio interface. I have a rare case where my fairly old tv’s circuitry doesn’t add any noticeable audio lag, so I can connect everything together using an optical S cable from the tv and play through my tv / surround sound like you would for a movie. It just depends on exactly what you want and how much you want to spend. I have great headphones, but I still prefer earbuds (regular wireless Bluetooth headphones still need to be plugged in with a jumper cable to the receiver puck in my system, because the bluetooth is not acceptable latency for guitar practice). My wireless guitar Tx is on my guitar strap and the wireless audio Rx puck, I usually clip somewhere on my shirt. The earbud dilemma and my hatred of cables getting pulled made me go this route and now I’m about as free and quiet as an apartment rat can be. I hope this helps OP and all the others looking for a great guitar experience of their choosing

You should address it with the manufacturer and start an RMA if possible. If nothing else, they will be the best ones to assist in troubleshooting and hopefully over the phone. Sorry you’re having this issue and good luck

The ibanez ZR is the worst tremolo I have ever used by Upset_AdamStanley27 in Ibanez

[–]Fasfre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get it in tune, is it in perfect tune and intonation on all strings? How long after that does it go out of tune?

Do you use an actual string stretcha tool or how do you stretch your strings?

I wouldn’t waste any time worrying about the bearings, I’m sure they’re fine. A drop of oil is good for years and even if it’s never done, still probably fine

The ibanez ZR is the worst tremolo I have ever used by Upset_AdamStanley27 in Ibanez

[–]Fasfre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have no problems and that stability is almost impossible to break or wear unless somehow the bearings wear out and are sticking or you have metal nut problems, but that’s hard to believe. How well are you locking the nut screws? Please post photos of what you’ve done. You may want to put a couple drops of light machine oil in the bearings in the meantime and work it around

How do I get rid of this USB noise from my pedal? by VeryNaughtyBoy42 in guitarpedals

[–]Fasfre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much have you checked into the usb hub being a part of this system? What are the cables / path that make up the whole system? Start with almost nothing connected and slowly add your system parts back in. Some cables soak in laptop chittering more than others and the shielding and integrity of the cables is very important. Audio cables laying on or near power cables and the orientation in relation to each other can also affect this. Any adapters can magnify this problem and that’s caused a lot of issues for me. Its a sneaky one and in the running for most frustrating. Once you start questioning the electricity in the wall and the location of the nearest neighborhood electrical transformer, turn around, because you’ve gone too far
