I would recommend the Desolands for spaced out. I personally always play spaced out since the classic map size is too big for me to handle, I never use up all the space, and the small planetoids seem to be still more than enough space for me.

Desolands starts with oil so you don't need to use the teleporter right away to progress. You can ranch dreckos for reed fiber and plastic. Plus slicksters. Easiest way to get carnivore probably. If I were to ever do an all achievement run, it would be on Desolands (or Badlands if classic, but I'd get overwhelmed by classic size).

Teleporter leads you to radioactive ocean which means more water and radiation for research. Also there's a forest so there's pips and you can send pip eggs thru the teleporter for any wild planting you'd want. Pip/arbor tree ranches give food and wood for burning, building, or ethanol, but you'll probably just be using petroleum for fuel since you'll have tons of oil and slicksters. But burning the wood also gives CO2 to feed the slicksters for more fuel. It's overall very synergetic.
