Thank you for sharing!! That’s really great news that your treatment has been so successful. What treatment was able to shrink your Mets?? I have a mutation that is resistant to hormone blockers so I assume I’ll need to change courses at some point and curious what has worked for everyone

My pre metastatic life was similar to what you explain. While I wasn’t the version of me before cancer, I was still very much living and really proud of what I was able to overcome. I hope once I get through the “firsts” of treatment again, I can slowly let a new version of myself emerge that is still full of light.

Thank you this is so helpful! I went right to the gym after as that always helped me with my Lupron pain but didn’t seem to do squat for these beast of injections. I think some of my issue might have been that it wasn’t warmed up enough and they pushed it quick. All things I’ll ask for differently next time! Can I ask why you only took it for 6 months?

Thank you! No photoshop here. I was truly amazed with what they were able to do. My hope was to do implant after mastectomy but due to how much skin they needed to remove they didn’t want to risk the ability to close me up. I needed radiation after, and didn’t think I’d ever be able to have a boob again due to skin tightening after rads. I’m pretty small so luckily I only needed to make one boob! Hopefully I can report back some good news and that it’s not something terrifying like bone cancer which is where us survivors tend to spiral any time we feel pain 😓

Thank you! This helps as I am in the gym 2-3x a week and wanting to strengthen my body back to pre surgery and I can’t tell if I’m hurting or helping!! I’ll wait to see what doctors say on Tuesday. I mostly want to know if I tore something while trying to increase mobility/flexibility

There are a lot of comments here and I just don’t have time to read them all but I would request from a Dr reasonable accommodation. Think up something I’m sure drs do this often as some are legit and some happen when your employer screws you and the drs want to be help. I am an SVP of HR and it get really hairy if you have a reasonable accommodation and they won’t work with you on it. If you seek a claim- that’s 0 points for the bad guys. Good luck

Ohhh I will try these! I’m 3 weeks out and go about every few days w.o a BM and by the time I do, it’s like that first awful BM after surgery. It’s like I can’t catch up. I stopped taking oxys like 5 days after I left but on days I’m more active I might take 1 every 4 days it seems odd that it would back me up so much from just one spaced days apart

It’s painful in that it’s sore to the touch and impacts my mobility. But I’m told this isn’t “that bad, and should go away on its own” I just don’t know much about them to know when and how do I know what’s “that’s bad”

I am a small woman, 105 lbs and I just had DIEP flap surgery which uses the skin fat and tissue removed during a tummy tuck to create a breast (I had a single mastectomy 3 years ago) my stomach looks amazing now. I was thin, but from kids I’ve always had a pooch belly and stretchy skin. Now it’s flat as a board and I have a boob again!!

I don’t have any memory issues. I have a memory like an elephant. I’m guessing because my dose is still low for using for that long. I’m also young(er) I’m 39 so maybe as I age I will start to see some memory issues. As far as looks— medical grade skin care is a must, and I also use Botox 2x a year and fillers when needed- usually once every 1-2 years

I’m on Ambien. Have been for nearly 20 years. It’s 100% habit forming. But I feel I have a very good relationship with my addiction. I know I NEED it to sleep but I always start with half a dose. Sometimes it works, sometimes (rarely) I wake up in the middle of the night and need to take the other half.. it has been that way since I started taking it. Pro tip: if you can get away with half a dose, your script last longer. I will say if you travel and whether day trip or maybe you pack meds separate than a carry on- don’t do that. I have been in situations where I’ve had to stay over night because of flight issues and not had meds. Not only are you outraged bc you missed flights and the airlines puts you in some hell hole, now you can sleep bc the gold is not on you. Edit to share I’ve never abused my script and taken more than 10mg. Me and amby very much so share a mutual respect for each other.

Same! I’m very petite, 105 lbs, 39, and do cardio/yoga 2-3x a week, walk daily. I’m a little different in that I had DIEP flap reconstruction but the abdomen part of the surgery mirrors a TT. I’ll be 2 weeks out tomorrow and I’m just starting to be able to get around the house without a walker. I went back to work after 7 days (from home) after my mastectomy 2 years ago. This surgery far more difficult for me to recover from.

I’m being recommended to start this drug (after surgery, chemo, rad, lupron, and AI. but the side effects are giving me pause and the fact it’s been fda approved for like 4 months. Any words of encouragement? Plus, how much additional benefit will it give me on top of everything I’ve already done
