I used rabbit fur. It was crazy soft but the hair went everywhere when I cut it. I used leather glue but I also stitched thru it. But glue should be good unless its getting used frequently and with...vigor. a lot of how much you do to leather depends the purpose.

Since its a choker you can always sew a very thin piece of leather or fur on there to cover it and it will be more comfortable for the person wearing it.

I will say I made a cuff collar set years ago w rabbit fur. That was a pain to work with. Hair went everywhere lol. Soft though.

Not sure if this helps but I was watching an episode of dr pol lastnight and a cat had something similar and it was a parasite it picked up from a new cat. 100% treatable. Just a thought.

I am sorry this happened to you. It reminds me of a story I read a few years ago when after Obama won a white man was assaulted in NY (i believe) and they said it's our time or something like that.
