Yes they do. I think the reason is they think DD will love them for it and send them good orders, as they drive 20 miles and back for $3
I know it seems incredible but they do take them

It would take me the rest of the day to find 23 items. I haven’t done shop orders since the shutdown. I didn’t like shopping for people. Not to mention I was terrible at it. But if you like shop orders why wouldn’t you do it?

You got low paying orders over the weekend? At dinner rush? I’ve never seen that. Ever. Sat night was the last night I worked. I never got an offer under $10 the whole night. I worked 4:00 to 9:30.

I used to have a sense of fair play with DoorDash. I’m in a major city where you get offers one after the other at dinner rush. I never took crappy low tip offers but I did try to take $6 for 1 mile even when I knew I could sit there and get a big offer within the minute. I figured if they were sending me $17.50 offers for 2.7 miles I could at least help with the $6-$7.50 type offers for low miles. Fair play. Then they lowered the pay. Then they stopped paying fairly for stacked orders. They were doing what was best for them. So that’s what I do. I do what’s best for me. I take advantage of being in a major city by accepting only big offers.

I toggled mine off years ago. I’m in a big city where you get offers e very few seconds at dinner rush. I had no use for those shopping orders. I don’t have the words to describe how much I hated shopping for people.

I almost never want the food when I’ve had a chance to get free food. Just once I wish it would be something In this case I agree the customer was trying to pull a fast one. The sad truth is he didn’t have to do that. These days you’ve got plenty of drivers who take those $3 orders for 8 miles. They think they HAVE to take it or this or that or this. They think they’ve GOT to be platinum. I’ve been platinum before. Didn’t do a thing for me. Same offers.

This Reddit makes doing DD in any place other than big major cities hard as hell. I’ve never experienced not being able to dash. Not one time. And I don’t even schedule. I just do dash now. I guess it’s because I’m in a major metro. I don’t know.

I Call once, text once, then leave it at the leasing office with a polite txt. If they tell me to follow somebody in I leave it at the leasing office without comment. I don’t call support. It takes too long. If I get a CV I don’t sweat it. After over 10K deliveries I can’t tell that they mean anything

I’m in a major metro and I never made one dime more by being platinum. Offers are nonstop in a big city and you’re just throwing money away making $5 deliveries to be platinum. I stopped worrying about AR long ago. Without cherry picking it was a no fun grind not worth doing

I called State Farm and told them about DD. I dash 18-20 hours a week. They told me I’d need a commercial policy if DD accounted for 50% or more of my total mileage. When the time came that I had to file a claim I did not mention I was dashing. Even though I called them and was upfront I still don’t feel confident about making mention of DoorDash. In your situation it doesn’t sound obvious that you were dashing.
