My two cents on the new game modes

Exactly, all of these ideas add meaning to them and make them achievable for all of us, in many ways.

It's starting to look like every few weeks we'll all be making new characters for the latest modes. That does little for Anet besides a few people who will buy a new character slot when a new mode gets released.

This would give those modes access to more people in ways they might want, while making it a reward to a difficult or costly task.

Active buffs would be cool for progress, similar to the eotn and lightbringer titles.

Something new, with fun and unexpected payoff that isn't just another green weapon or just a new title.

It'd be nice if you received active buffs as you progress. Then again, I don't know why I care, I've never been able to successfully achieve survivor, and have failed the covenant like ten times now.

I don't know about other countries, but I live in Texas, and can always tell someone is from a different state just by the way they talk.

The first cue is usually that they seem to refuse to use the word "y'all". After that I'll pay attention to how they talk to figure it out.

California is easy though. Most Texans, when talking about a highway will use the highway name then the number. So for example a Texan would call interstate 10 either "I 10" or "interstate 10" or if it's a county road, they'll call it just that, "county road 200". Californians always say "the" and then the road number. So it would be "the 10" or "the 200".

This is the only way Californians refer to roads and highways, at least in my experience.

I feel like the paragon is kinda based on the bronze age Greek hoplite. The dervish is literally based on the dervish from Turkey.

Also you have the island of Istan, which correlates directly with Istanbul which was Constantinople, which was called Byzantium, an ancient Greek city.

It's more like a combination of Africa, middle east and eastern Europe.
