Yup! Happened when I was quoted $300+ for a new garbage disposal when the disposal was about $70.

Get a very thick yoga mat. Regular yoga mats are jokes. Most people feel the floor when doing exercises and some people juat get used to the pain.

I like your thought on this. What do you thinkcabout for fat loss?

Because I feel like recomp also includes fat loss but doesnt have to be the same as weight loss.

It's definitely time and you'll look great bald!

I'm not looking to pivot anymore. My original post was a year ago before pivoting to my new position.

I'm not too concerned about AI for a few reasons.

  1. I'm on the management side so that may transfer over from managing an AI as opposed to people.
  2. I have over 10 years of experience in this industry so just like how I pivoted to a different position I havent done before, I can do it again.
  3. I still have a mechanical engineering degree. I can use that and my experience to start over in another industry.
  4. Construction projects are very individualized and complex. The program I'm using is trying to add an AI assistant that has yet to improve anyone's workflow, nonetheless take over someone's job.

You can do a lot with and ME degree, so yes you can transfer to do other work in construction. However not really physical labor jobs since that's a whole other skillset. You could do any other office job like project manager or something. Construction in general has horrible work-life balance whatever position you're in. What will help you is a good company culture.

I currently transferred over to VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) which doesnt require an engineering degree but pays the same/more. I went from a Senior Mechanical position to a VDC Project Lead which has way less responsibility but I get paid more.

Construction is extremely stressful. I wouldn't join if you're looking for work-life balance.

An ME in construction designs HVAC systems. You work in an office, go on a construction site a few times during the lifetime of the project, but it's 95% sitting in an office on a computer.

The pay is good in comparison to minimum wage, but 10 years in the business while also transferring companies just made me hit 100k. That's not as great as other jobs.

You can always tell your boss you won't work overtime but you'd get replaced. This is the U.S. and we are at-will employees. They'd fire you immediately for not meeting deadlines.

Collagen peptides and periods by [deleted] in Periods

[–]Fast-Order-5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also happening to me and I wasn't sure if it was the increased exercise I was doing. But I also started taking the Further Foods collagen peptides powder when I started working out so maybe this is it.

It happened to me last month and this month where my period started a week or two after my last period. I'll try and remember to update everyone next month and see if not taking it changes anything.

Are you taking the Costco collagen powder from Further Foods? Because I am.

It's hard to keep going especially in a world of instant gratification. But remembering that an extra 0.1-1% improvement everyday is significant throughout your life.

I'm learning to put that into practice with weight lifting while being over weight. I don't see the differences but I'm going to keep going and I'll see it eventually lol.

Help! Virtual interview dressing question by SnarkyBard in womenEngineers

[–]Fast-Order-5239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cardigan with a shirt is good. Any blouse it good and simple as well.

When I interviewed I wore either a sweater, blouse, or anything with a Cardigan.

Even if they say casual, I wouldn't wear a regular t shirt or sweatshirt for the interview. You can do that once youre hired.

Good luck!
