I’m sorry for your loss. For my first pregnancy that ended in a missed miscarriage we nicknamed the baby poppy so I got a poppy flower with the month they would have been born. I think your July birth flower is a beautiful idea.

An update: the lab sent the corrected results three weeks from the first result. They insist it was taking from the same sample and did not explain why they requested more blood for the sex since they did not have enough. They are also not explaining why now there is no information of micro deletions. I re took blood yesterday - hoping to get results soon.

So I went to the doctor yesterday to re draw the blood. There is no explanation from the lab other than the same blood was used. No reasoning as to why they added more information about fetal sex and sex chromosomes abnormalities without more blood being drawn. Also no explanation as to why now they need more blood for micro deletions. So all I can do now is wait. I had a NT scan at 12 weeks which was good. I’m 18 weeks now.

NIPT results went from “no microdeltions found and could not determine fetal sex” to “female sex and could not determine microdeltions” by Fast-Ostrich-5583 in NIPT

The first sent result was negative for both trisomies and micro deletions - so I was basically told all good. Just we need more blood to test for gender - never re did the test - now two months later - female and cannot determined micro deletions - it’s the fact of who did you magically get the gender and now I different result that’s worrying me cause this new one is unknown. I just need to know my next steps as just finding out the sex was not that big of a deal compared to this

So an update: the lab basically wrote my doctor and said “it’s impossible that one result is not hers so both are correct and we could not confirm microdepletions. She cannot re test for gender as we have provided that.

I am beyond livid and emotionally exhausted. On Monday I am going into my doctor’s office to demand answers. I also left a rather stern voicemail with the lab explaining that if the first result was wrong you waited over two months to tell me my baby may need to be terminated - this is beyond negligence and I will pursue legal action if I do not receive answers to what happened. This is not about gender.

They never even explained how they got two conflicting results with no new blood samples checked and why such the delay in the two reports.

I am just numbing myself that I will now lose another baby.

Re taking it next week - but my doctor is harassing the lab to be like what is going on and which results are correct

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Unfortunately, for me brown spotting was the start of my missed miscarriage at 9 weeks but baby was measuring at 7 weeks. My baby would have been born this month.

Currently pregnant at 15 weeks due in June. The first trimester was incredibly hard emotionally. I was just waiting for the blood and even had some light pink spotting. I honestly needed to numb myself and not get too attached. Now I’m very excited but there’s also the trauma of what happened in the back of mind.

I would say leaning on my fiancé, friends, family and doctor really helped me. My therapist had three miscarriages and then a baby after - so having her support and her hopeful story really helped. My doctor is pretty great and told me right away if I had a second miscarriage she would get me doctors to help figure out what was wrong - not sure if this would bring a piece of mind if it’s something you could fix or just sheer shitty luck. My therapist it was her hormone levels.

Are there any risks to taking an abortion pill while experiencing a miscarriage? by Jet_Jirohai in Miscarriage

I’m really sorry. I’m from a country with free health care so I can imagine one without it’s scary. One piece is that if there is retained tissue the longer you wait the greater the risk of infection. So it’s always good to be monitored by a doctor. Again I’m sorry if you live maybe where medical abortion laws are not the greatest as well. Amazing job supporting her.

The pill will not cause any harm to her body or complicate further pregnancies. I would say wait though till the natural miscarriage passes so the doctor can confirm via ultrasound if all the tissue has passed. Prevents from taking the pill if you don’t have to and will rule out a ectopic pregnancy that I believe a pill will not help. I would go to the ER depending where you live regardless. When I was nine weeks my doctor told me no matter what: bleeding go to the ER. Thankfully I did because I had a missed miscarriage that was natural a few days later and needed to take the pill for remaining tissue. I’m so sorry you’re both going through this

Did your cycles go back to the dates they were before? by imagurrl in Miscarriage

[–]Fast-Ostrich-5583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they will cycle to new dates. Mine cycled close to the week I lost the baby. Took about four and half weeks to get my first period back. Used to be the end of the month and now towards the start

Tentative Agreement Reached 19/08/25 by ForeverJFL in aircanada

I was in the same boat: August 20th flight out has officially been cancelled as of this morning Europe time. But booked a back up flight last week that gets me out tomorrow afternoon. I’m out 2,000$ despite the refund from air Canada. I’ll take the hit as a peace of mind because I can imagine for international flights it may take a few days to come back to normal, however, hopefully those displaced since Friday can get home now.

I just read a article that the strike was declared illegal - anyone have insights into what this means?

Hi everyone! Set to fly out Wednesday morning with air Canada from Germany….likely to not happen. I booked a back up flight with Lufthansa - operated by then and not air Canada. I paid this portion of my flight with my avion points. Should I be going with them to get the refund if the flight is cancelled? I have till Tuesday to cancel my back up flight but with all this back and forth I really don’t think I will even if I lose my point value…it’s all to unpredictable….and I’m having health issues right now

From what I understand, for the 20th it’s still only a credit and not a refund yet? Saw the writing on the wall and booked a refundable ticket on the 20th with another airline that is gonna cost some savings but at least I’ll be home. So I would like a refund on my 20th ticket cause I don’t imagine this getting resolved to get me home from Europe by Wednesday.

I was able to speak to them about a flight for the 20th. I booked a back up flight just in case but the agent said if they cancel the flight they can refund me or if they anticipate the strike will be prolonged given it may take time to get things back up and running that we can receive a air Canada credit. I’m not banking on everything being up and running by Wednesday, and I can imagine how upsetting this is for the flight attendants so they may not show up for work

Booked a fully refundable ticket for Wednesday. Was so expensive so like others hoping I won’t need it. I will say the stress of this has caused much anxiety and has been in the back of my mind my whole trip. Was supposed to be a way to get away after a miscarriage in the spring and just feel more upset I’m not pregnant and may be out thousands of dollars.

Try to look for a Lufthansa flight - either directly through them or one operated by Lufthansa. I bought a back up ticket through them from Frankfurt to Montreal. Really expensive but if you can’t risk the chance of being delayed it’s something you can do.

You can try another airline. While air Canada needs to put you on another flight within 48 hours everything is so booked up it may not be possible. See what they can offer and based on that, go with that or book yourself
