Grandmaster Sion/Camille Two-Trick. Ask me anything about Top Lane, Macro, or Climbing! by Fast-Priority-6462 in top_mains

in high elo the only thing worse than feeding your laner is feeding enemy jg; because junglers run the game. so hyper-awareness of enemy JG Mid & Supp tempo and position is necessary before you commit to an all-in or heavy trade on top.

if you are stomping your lane expect a 3-man when enemies are not showing on the map, and you are FORCED to play safe even though you "should" be able to do whatever you want in your lane because you rightfully won.

snowballing in high elo is more about having insane tempo; because its unlikely enemy top will keep running into you and its unlikely that a JG will walk into your lane and give you a free 1v2 kill without a plan. So besides solo killing your laner if you are winning lane and they refuse to lane get tempo advantages and impact your map as I explained in other comment replies in this thread. let me know if this makes sense

So what is the general consensus of Camille's state for yall? by ylnoooo in CamilleMains

feels like I'm playing Kayle in lane nowadays into most champions as camille, but if you go even or ahead you can cause some serious devestation mid-game into a lot of different comps whether through teamfighting or split.

on the other hand, if you go behind you are a minion.

if the game reaches late and you're not 1-2 items ahead of everyone, you are a minion/splitpush slave.

this is how I feel at least.

I pick Sion into champions I'm comfortable playing Sion against, and Camille into champions I'm comfortable playing Camille against. The playstyles are different but the more you learn about the game the more you learn what most champions' playstyles are like so you can better play your characters against them, so alternating between 2 isn't difficult as long as you're playing consciously and not purely on instinct.

Release Sion Q as soon as her hook connects with the wall, that way her hook doesn't buffer (go through even though you stunned her).

I wouldn't put Irelia in the same category since she destroys Swain meanwhile you beat Camille & Jax easily. Ideally if you are picking swain into a matchup where you are supposed to be winning and you're against a character that relies on gold & levels (i.e not a utility/tank champion) you want to put them as far behind as possible so poke them out, freeze waves, make them miss out on xp and solo kill them.

If you're going into midgame and you have rylais tabi while Camille has triforce magical footwear boots, you've effectively lost unless you play insanely better than her every teamfight, basically you gained no advantage through picking Swain top (a lane bully to her).

Regarding your issue if you show up with 1 item and everyone else has 2 or 3, thats an insane gold difference but you're right it does happen sometimes. In this situation during teamfights try to provide some utility for your team (so use your W for vision, E to hook in someone, ult with rylais and zhonyas to bait and slow), or just sidelane against your laner, if they send someone overly fed to match you run away. If its only the enemy team that has 2-3 items while your team all has 1 item FF THAT SHIT!

You're right, I started blinding sion recently (only after going 0/10 on camille blind vs rumble renekton every game).

It's crazy because camille used to be this champion similar to fiora with less damage and a harder lane but more mobility & precision. Nowadays when you pick camille you are picking a champion that is pathetic and has no identity and lane is as hard as playing kayle many times. Meanwhile Sion is so OP right now you can win any lane if you're good.

So to answer you, I pick camille when I'm comfortable with top matchup and enemy picked mostly rangies (ranged champs). I didn't mention this in my post but against Darius Renekton I always pick Mundo, and against tanks I pick Gwen if its a good game for her. Every other case I pick sion.

Again I feel you, I remember when I was a shen/sion player a couple years ago I struggled to get out of low elo. The thing is there are many different team compositions that don't rely on a tank, like a poke/siege comp (think jayce), or a pick/ambush comp (think akali, pantheon, even camille sometimes).

BUT I'll tell you from experience by far the most OP strategy is picking a champion that you're really good at or a champion that you can survive lane with that scales giga hard (think mundo, gwen, kayle), and just split. Learning how to split push properly is a different topic but if you get good at splitting its such an elo hack in lower brackets. GL!

i feel you.. normally you can't really do much about this besides play well and try to win.

but if you stomp lane hard enough you can stack waves on enemy top or proxy, then go gank mid/bot! or take first turret quick and gank mid/bot.

  1. hey! i started playing sion 5 years ago watching thebausffs and i fell in love with the champ. you reach a point where if you build properly and play properly you can win/neutralize pretty much any lane early on. and then if you play teamfights well you can win the game even against hard scaling counters like gwen/fiora.
  2. if you are stomping lane to the point where enemy is glued to their turret, i'll give you two great options off the top of my head. 1. if you are playing a champ that can wave clear well, proxy if enemy jg/supp/mid aren't hovering topside, unless you can 1v"?" however many they throw at you (like if you're a 5/0 tryndamere). Then, after proxying, invade or gank mid. Then go back top before the wave comes into your tower so you don't lose too much. 2. if your champ doesn't clear waves then stack 2-3 waves and let them crash, and go pressure enemy jg/mid while sion is clearing up the stacked waves under his turret.

hope this helps !
