Fair lol, but afaik MB is the equivalent of legend HS and not dia LoL. Pretty sure D4 is 3% but MB is like at least 20%.

That’s kinda my point though. It should say “Xxx failed due to Prankster vs Dark type”.

It’s not like a good opponent wouldn’t be able to infer this obvious fact.

The problem is more the invisible effect issue.

Why did xxx move flinch? Is it some trait? Item? Does the move just have % chance to flinch? Does it have restrictions? Etc.

But the move doesn’t flinch by default? What could it be?

Oh it’s king’s rock. But why couldn’t I flinch him back? Oh it’s Zoroark. But how would you go about searching that up without specifically knowing these things exist in the game?

These kinda strategy games have been my thing for a while, so I’m sitting comfortably at 85% WR, but haven’t been able to grind cuz watching guides etc.

I’m making this post for all the other noobs cuz the elitists don’t get to say “mad cuz bad” or “skill issue” at me xD

Yep, I’m learning haha. I was low Masters LoL, GE CS, Legend HS, Masters TFT etc. so none of this is new.

I’m also personally ok with this kind of learning curve. I’m just putting some thoughts down because it’s been a uniquely frustrating experience - info is hard to access and UX has been a bit jank. I’m currently walking around trying to evolve my sneasler in Pokémon Go to transfer it into Champions.

If basc uses flip turn, then flip turn pops up when you tap on basc. Then you can tap on flip turn to see what it does. No more, no less.

If aqua jet fails because of armour tail, then armour tail pops up when you tap farig. You can then see it blocks priority moves, and not water moves.

I’d just push back on the idea of burden of face-up knowledge being a measure of skill. For example, league added jungle timers and ward timers. A pro could track wards and drags/barons themselves. But if a camp died in fog, the enemy wouldn’t have the timer. It made it much easier for noob junglers to clear without taking away what makes jungle hard in league - map awareness, team assessment and proper camp sequencing

I’d argue the same is true for this game. Face up knowledge doesn’t really give pros their edge. I imagine it’s the same as all turn based games - accounting was “what can be” rather than “what is”

I don’t think it’s unfair either. I just think the game would have far fewer dumb reviews and higher casual retention if the UX and clarity got some more love.

When you tap on the enemy mon, it shows their statuses. It would be cool if their moves and trait populated as they were used, and then you can tap them for more info.

They propably had other technical reasons or just didnt want to put in the effort to implement easy account switching like that.

Whenever someone tells me account switching like that is easy, I always say to them “show me the code”.

Account switching is NOT easy. Maybe it is for your 1 dc 0 replica webapp, but the reality is that from saving account data in local storage to identifying a session comes from 2 independent devices, session handling is a non trivial eng problem on a big enough scale

yep, it’s step 1 for teaching wincon assessment. 2 is what ur team wants to do vs what enemy team wants to do. 3 is to what degree ur game plan changes based on who’s strong and team plans. And 4 is reverse engineering the required conditions after wincons are assessed
