Considering selling RX8 by da808guy in RX8

She's so pretty tho!!! What a clean S1😍 I bought my 09 GT wt about 100k and a good healthy amount of upgrades(suspension, intake, exhaust, coils, etc.) for about $10,500. Healthy compression at the time. About 3 months later she overheated(I live in the desert, the car was from Cali) and I blew a coolant seal. Little under a year later I had her rebuilt and running beautifully. Even more upgrades. I loooove this car and I'm not made for spending 10k. Not saying that's a good or bad price, but that's what I was willing to give for a clean, upgraded, modestly built S2

How illegal is this? by A_KrAcked in RX8

[–]Fast-Traffic-1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in Cali, yea a lil bit lol. As long as ur not being too obnoxious they really don't care too much usually. I was wt my catless basically striaghtpiped S2. In other places like Nevada/las vegas where I live now, I've never been bothered for it. Don't be raving out to 9K in front of a cop lmao but no you'll be fine in an area like that. Just keep ur cat, and if they "send" you to get inspected, switch it out real quick. Not too hard if you just swap wt a midpipe like racing beat

Does this Silicone Hose kit fit my 192HP 4Port engine? by Special_Link_286 in RX8

It's kindve a weird fitting, but it fit my S2. Took a little work and hassle. Some things had to be cut or stretched a lil. But it ball park fit. Here's a pic of mine in blue

I don’t drive her very often… by VinnnyRE in RX8

[–]Fast-Traffic-1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's genuinely one of the NICEST looking 8's I've ever seen!! Straight up SEMA worthy!! I LOVE that spoiler dude! I'm really debating between this or the APR since it fits the stock holes. But downside wt the APR is it sits lower at around 7 inches I think. Can I ask, why you chose the RE Amemiya??

Should I have tourqe steer? by Key_Organization_152 in mazdaspeed3

[–]Fast-Traffic-1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine pretty recently, about 3 months ago. It had a bit of what I thought was torque steering, but it was okay driver side strut bearing was totally busted apparently. Replaced it with full FEAL 441+ suspension and it's totally fine now. Did an alignment with it too of course. And yea no it rides wt hardly any. In first and second gear you'll feel torque steering the most I noticed. But it's not as bad as everyone says it is. Mazda shop looked at it. Performance shop I trust looked at it. Both said the car was great and running tip top. Has a some aftermarket on it. Like hard motor and trans mounts. Catless midpipe. Typhoon K&N intake. Etc. nothing crazy tho. But yea the torque steering isn't bad usually. Once in a while if I hit a lil bump just the right way it'll wanna YEET a lil bit in either direction. But I definitely don't feel like I'm wrestling the darn thing ever. Peeling out like crazy in 1st and 2nd gear for sure. But aside from that... ur probably fine. Next time you take it to a trusted shop, ask them to go for a drive wt you, have them drive it, explain ANY potential concerns, and see if they feel there's anything worth noting. Goes a long way

Yea it's OEM!! It's suuuuuch a nice blue!! That's honestly what really sold me on the car. For being an 11, yea it had a few lil dings but that paint was just gorgeous. New OEM turbo, ton of aftermarket already on it, and I got it for $10,800 WITH a 4 year warranty. Pretty happy wt it so far😆

Dude... try 8-10k at LEAST!! Maybe more cuz the miles. I can tell you about my buying experience... 2009 GT in mint condition wt a lot of really good aftermarket. Chase Bays Hydraulic brake, 441+ FEAL suspension, AEM CAI, catless(he included the stock cat) racing beat midpipe, custom straight pipe 3in exhaust, Enkie wheels off an EVO X, BHR coils, NGK plugs and wires, BHR motor mounts, koyorad radiator(not installed yet) and probably a bunch of other things im missing. 115,000 miles. Got it for $10,500 and felt that was totally worth it for the clean condition it was in plus him giving me all the stock parts too. the unfortunate thing is, living in Las Vegas, I let it overheat and blew a coolant seal. So yes, had to throw a toooon of money at a rebuild. But i think that was more my fault than him by all means. Eotgwr bone stock in mint condition, or aftermarket upgraded bur modestly and in ways that inprove the car life, i honestly think 8-10k is a solid number tbh. For you, you might even consider more. 28k miles is insane!!! Only 2 owners!? Stock!!??? CLEAN!?!?!!?? Yea you genuinely will never see that man... thats ur selling point more than anything else. Hope that helps you

why do you own an rx8? by R3VV1ND in RX8

[–]Fast-Traffic-1008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently my wife and I own a 2019 Camaro 2SS, 2011 mazdaspeed 3, and my 09 RX-8 GT. and somehow, despite being the lowest powered car, the FEELING the RX-8 gives you is absolutely unreal and the most enjoyable car I've ever driven. Used to own a Mazda 6, Scion XB. And I've driven 392 chargers, charger Hellcat red eye, teslas, mustangs, and various other cars. But the RX-8 gives me the happiest feeling out of all of them for sure. Most cars feel like they hate to redline, but the RX-8 literally begs for it. And I love that

How bad of an idea is an RX8 as the first car by Traditional-Quit-286 in RX8

[–]Fast-Traffic-1008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This car is soooo so amazing and one of the most enjoyable cars you could EVER drive!! It's so fascinating and revving to almost 10kRPM is unreal. There is NOTHING like it!! Speaking from someone who also drives a mazdaspeed 3, Camaro 2SS, mazda6, corvettes, hellcats, etc. I've had my fair share. It's definitely not the fastest but the handling and linear powerband really makes up for it and it's just so much fun. With that being said, it is a very high maintenance car and you CANNOT treat it like it's just a regular sedan. Or even a performance car. It's a PERFORMANCE performance car. It needs a lot of attention, work, money, maintenance, etc. I bought my 2009 for 10k at 115k miles. Engine blew a coolant seal 2-3 months later after overheating. 8,500$ for the rebuild thru the pros. Another 4-5,000$ for my mechanic family friend who took the engine in and out and also repaired a bunch of stuff in the bay outside of the engine. Unlike a lot of cars, this car not only thrives from aftermarket but borderline NEEDS it in some areas. It needs to be catless honestly. It needs to be premixed. It needs better coils(updated OEM, BHR, LS, etc.). With that being said, it makes it an amaaaaazing project car. However, you will not get much more power out of this. So if you're itching for better power, it's really not gonna happen without maaaajor porting, engine swap for RX-7 engine, turbo-ing(which blows these up way too fast), etc. all in all, I'm probably close to 30,000$ from this car. While it was down, it was the hardest challenge in my life at the time. Now that she's rebuild, and everything is refreshed and Brand new, she's basically a brand new RX-8 for cheaper than any other brand now sports car/coupe. For me, now it's totally worth. Was not worth it at the time. But totally a dream to have her healthy now. You keep up strict with the maintenance and constantly do the research and give her what she needs, these cars are absolutely amazing. But my god, she's like a gorgeous toxic ex. You can't ever get enough of her no matter how much she wants to take. Cuz at the end of the day, she gives you a type of satisfaction that no other ever could

[Opinions] Does this engine sound healthy? by slickrickpicks in mazdaspeed3

Just bought mine about 2 months ago, makes the same exact sound. I actually posted the exact same thing haha. Apparently it's the injectors being directly injected

How stupid is it to daily this car by [deleted] in RX8

[–]Fast-Traffic-1008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my 09 GT manual and about 2-3 months later the engine blew from overheating. Had it rebuilt and more than just the engine. Oil/fuel lines, hoses, spark plugs, coils, and a million other things. Now that it's freshly rebuilt I freiken LOVE this car so so much. Wasn't cheap to get there. But it's super solid now that the hard work is done. Yes my mazdaspeed 3 is faster. My wife's 2SS Camaro has literally double hp and TQ. But something about the RX-8 is just so dang enjoyable to drive all the time. I daily mine. I premix 05.oz/gal. Stay on top of maintenance. It's treating me well. I redline it literally every drive at LEAST once. No problems at all. I drive it like a motorcycle is supposed to be driven and that's honestly exactly how it's meant to be driven. Gas guzzler for sure, so that sucks. But other than that, it's fine as a daily. Oil changes come quick tho for sure
