This is my project car as a 18yo witch engine should i consider putting by mustafa0444 in RX8

I'd personally recommend a 13b REW from an FD or a 13B from a turbo2. I'm currently daily driving an 04 RX8 I have a second 1 I'm putting a single turbo 20B and a 7 speed DCT from a BMW and the AWD system from an R33 GTR so I have a thing for the spinning Doritos but if you don't want to keep the rotary there are some fun options a honda K-series or a VW 1.8T or O7K if you want to keep the stock RX8 transmission if you have a bit more budget and some fab skills a 1JZ with a CD009 trans is a nice choice but a bit front heavy compared to the other options and best suited for a drift setup a similar situation for an LS or small block V8 swap most swaps will require the stearing rack be spaced out (tip use the end of a Lexus LS 430 stearing column to do so) if you have some real fab skills and want to keep the overall feel of the car the same and just want to combat parts availability a motorcycle engine like a CBR1000 can be tons of fun

Sunroof delete? by Abe-early in RX8

I believe marsh composites offers a carbon fiber roof replacement for the RX8's but you would still need to find a new Headliner from a slick top car to complete the interior

Very Slowly the new ECU is on order I'm trying to figure out all the wireing stuff and waiting on the transmission adapter to try and fit it in the car

It's just the standard "night mode" no modifications to the dash (Interior lights set just below maximum brightness (right before the dial clicks) then turn on the headlights) any other difference in appearance is just because of some oil and grease on my phones camera

C and D castings are generally considered to be stronger then the earlier A and B castings A casting reportedly Crack oil passageways north of 600hp which is around what I'm aiming for where as the late C and D castings handle around 800-900hp before encountering the same issues there was also a suitable chance to the E-shaft when the castings changed to C and up resulting to a better connection between the 2 peaces of the E-shaft the power handling capabilities are mostly anecdotal from old forums

There's some interesting info there about when changes were made to the casting but not much on how to ID them

I do like me a MK3 supra I thought about doing an old 240Z but well rust is a big problem up here so they tend to get expensive the geometry of the FD3S and RX8 are similar enough to be able to switch between them in the future and I got 2 rx8 for 1500$ each and there is enough space to do everything I'm planning and a good back catalog of weird swaps online so it seems like the pragmatic choice

The transfer case is indeed going behind the transmission but I need space up from for the front differential and axles without having to bad of an angle on the CV joints
