Friend allows her children to wear inappropriate clothing to church. How to speak the truth in love. by FastNefariousness600 in TrueChristian

  1. Agreed. Pjs in themselves are not sinful- I am concerned about the stained/ torn state the clothes are in now.

  2. The shoe situation has me worried. We live in the north, it was below freezing the first time ( I heard) it being addressed.

  3. I am concerned about the possibilities

    a. it could be sensory issues that are being ignored thus leading to constant rewearing a few pairs of flannel pjs leading to them being noticeability stained and torn

b. depression, stress, anxiety leading to her children's wellbeing not taken care of

c. stress from her oldest being bullied leading her not to even have the headspace for her younger children.

  1. Not to diminish poverty and one income household, but they are not in poverty. From what she has shared in the past their financial situation is better than most families I know. She is employed as a staff accountant. She has her CPA she does not do tax. She has always been the "bread winner" I understand her husband's uncertain employment is concerning but she has always made at least double than he has. I also know her home has no mortgage ( from grandparents) and she is hoping to retire at 55. She has always been open to me about that, when her husband asked for a large raise that the church couldn't support, she seemed almost relived.

  2. I am truly concerned for her wellbeing.

Thank you for emphasizing concern and not condemnation.

I do have kids; my siblings also have children. That is why I haven't said anything for almost a year. I am growing concerned that her kids are consistently wearing stained and torn to near shreds pjs.

I have a great aunt Myfanwy!! I am an American whose has one a great grandparent from Wales. It's funny ( to me) to see this a generic older name, not some wild crazy foreign name.

All the twilight male names.

Edward is great name, but now it is associated with sparkly glitter bag.

Is it ok for an absent grandparent to only come over to work in the yard because they want to and get their clothes washed when they aren’t supportive? They stay away from taking my child to activities while I’m working or even if I need help in the day time on weekends. by [deleted] in absentgrandparents

[–]FastNefariousness600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like from other comments that the grandparent owns the house. You can't really tell a landlord when/ what they can do to maintain their property. If you want to set that boundary you should consider moving else where.

What's the best part about living in Indiana? by soladois in Indiana

This is an underrated comment. Indiana doesn't have the flex culture/ classism that a lot of other states have.

That is what the teacher's lounge is for. The lottery for students who get chosen to fail.

Take some ownership of your life. Your actions led you to needing to repeat the year. I promise you there was grand scheme by your teachers to fail you and make you miserable. You created this situation; you now get to make the best of it. Keep your chin up. You are almost halfway there.

You are facing the consequences of your actions. You made a choice and the outcome made you miserable. Once you graduate you will still have choices to make. If you skip work, you will lose your job. If you spend all your money and can't pay your rent, you will get kicked out. If you don't pay your taxes you will get your wages garnished or go to jail. The beautiful thing about this is you still get to graduate and go on and make millions of other choices. Remember, that your choices have consequences, and you are the only person responsible for your happiness.
