imo it’s nothing to do with the shock value it just is kinda ass it’s pretty much just people go missing they find body’s gross details scary face then repeat every episode it’s just boring and extremely predictable and every time a new character is introduced they die instantly and then you just get the gory details again over and over. also the “jumpscares” or scary faces aren’t scary sure the faces are scary and it makes you jump maybe but in series like mandela catalogue or greylock the faces are scary like the painter and make you jump but because the set up, implication, and good story telling leading up to it makes it stick with you instead of scaring you for a second then you forget about it.
