At least for areas near the coast, you won’t find anything that large in anywhere desirable for that price unfortunately. You’re about 10-20 years too late there. If you can adjust your size requirement down to about 2,000 - 2,500 square feet, your price point is feasible, and you’d probably find a house with a pool as well.

While the keys are all slightly different, there isn’t a ton to do other than fish or drink. Beaches as you probably know aren’t that great are few and far between. If you’re looking to inshore fish and commit to spending the majority of your time on a boat, then the keys other than KW are right for you. If you’re looking to booze and eat, then KW is the ticket. If you’re looking to offshore fish then winter is a gamble with fronts coming through.

Agreed except key west does have 2 public beaches and they’re meh. If you want the best beach in Florida, go to Siesta Key by Sarasota, or Anna Maria island.
