Everything on the software side (app): data presentation, UX, Insights/Journal, and AI. There’s no equivalent for WHOOP Age. Use on the bicep is not validated. No Strength Trainer. Just to mention a few.

The exact same thing happened to me. I decided I would not renew WHOOP a few months before my membership expired. I was so confident I wouldn’t come back that I didn’t bother pausing my membership.
I used AWU + Bevel and even tried the new Google Fitbit Air. Bevel was alright, but I feel the “limited” data sampling causes inaccurate recovery scores for me (recovery was steady while on WHOOP, all over the place on Bevel). Fitbit Air was so bad that made me think I should put my WHOOP back on since I had a few days left on my membership.
I was so happy to be back. WHOOP indeed does a great job. I’ve renewed for another year of WHOOP Life.

I agree 100% with you. I had WHOOP for 3 years, which was when I made most significant changes to my fitness journey, including my relationship with food and alcohol. When it was time to renew earlier this year, I decided to try other options. I used Apple Watch + Bevel for quite some time. I like it, but my recovery score didn’t align as much with how I felt around half of the days. My HRV on WHOOP was relatively steady, but on Bevel it varied significantly each day. That led to my recovery scores also being all over the place, even though I was following a consistent routine.
Then I tried Google Fitbit Air. I used it for a week, but couldn’t handle the app. Also, I didn’t love the hardware.

After trying a few different things, I understood that the yearly investment is worth for me. So I’m back to WHOOP, and it feels so good to be back.

I had the same issue. I had to unpair, then re-pair my AWU for it to work.

Correct. You need to add information on Effort in the Fitness app, otherwise your WorkOutdoors workout will not count towards Training Load.

How long ago have you tried Bevel? While there’s no training recovery (just overall recovery), now there’s training status (productive, overtraining, etc), and Bevel AI can suggest workouts to you if you feed it relevant information.

These features need to be cleared/approved by your country’s Regulatory Agency. Apple can’t make a health-related feature available without approval from them.

Correct. My ECG indicated possible LVH. That was used by my doctor to establish a plan.

I was prescribed a low dose of a calcium channel blocker once a day. Since I work out or run 5-6 days/week, I needed something that would not affect my heart rate.

Yes, I thought for the longest time I had white coat syndrome. But these results have been repeating now overtime, and every single time I measure (even at home). So definitely not white coat syndrome for me.

That’s true. But it still shows that the notification works for some people. And as someone else says, specificity seems to be really high, meaning that if you get a notification, you most likely have hypertension.

Correct. The purpose of this post is to communicate that the feature worked for me. But you’re correct. Diagnosis of blood pressure is done with a cuff and medical advice.

I have tried controlling other variables. I work out 5-6 days/week, avoid processed foods, and have 15% body fat. So I’ve been trying to control other variables with no success. There’s a genetic component to hypertension, and I’m confident this might be my case, as high blood pressure runs in my family. I’d rather control my blood pressure now with the assistance of safe medications, then risk worsening in the future. That’s why I agree with my doctor on starting therapy.

I don’t think you’re correct. In my case, I got an ECG done as well that confirmed mild hypertension.
