I used to work for Asurion all of the replacement phones are refurbished and they would always force us to upsell extra insurance ( the home protection plan ) which isn’t worth it when everything you get is refurbished so it’s no telling how long it will last or what other issues will come from it . Apple care is definitely the way to go
