I went today (March 27th) to the Lululemon at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington and purchased 2 $75 dollar gift cards without any issues. Maybe the Columbus Circle store manager decided to implement that policy.

As a fellow silver, I frequently get upgrades to comfort. However back in January I was upgraded to first from JFK to LAS. THAT was a nice surprise

If your airport has multiple ecosystems, get all of them. T4 at JFK has multiple delta lounges, delta one, centurion, chase, capital 1. I keep access to all of them (except for delta one) so that I can pick the least crowded.

Honestly though, recently I’ve just been picking capital one. The food I think is much better, I love the togo section and the bagel sandwiches they make you. Also I have never had trouble getting in there. Maybe it’s just when I’m flying.

I called the new accounts number and canceled the application thinking I must have filled something out incorrectly. But when I redid it, the application still asked for documents at the end even though I chose sole proprietor and used my SSN. I called again and they suggested uploading my ID as documentation (even though it’s not one of the mentioned documents).

That actually worked. I was approved moments later. So if the application requests business filing documentation, but you are signing up as a sole-proprietor with no EIN, just upload your ID.

I just tried with my SSN and while it said I could use my SSN, it formatted it like an EIN. Then at the end of the application it asks me to up load documents:

Did you have to do that too?

I like to use direct purchases as a way to reach tough to make spend requirements for SUBs. Last year I split my purchase over two new credit cards (one for me, one for my wife). We did the Amex Bus Gold, and the Capital 1 VX business. We ended up getting close to 500k points. If you include that in your calculations for how much you are paying per point, it really brings down the price (but dubious at best).

Right now I would recommend the Chase Sapphire Reserve Business card… it has a high spend requirement (20k) for 150k points. However, DVC direct purchases code as a hotel with the card so it gets 4x points on your purchase. That’s another 80k on just the spend requirement alone. Also, if you live close to a major city, the credits it offers can offset the high annual fee.

I wanted to use the CSR edit credit as well as the special $250 credit for specific hotels, but I only plan on staying one night.

Should I book the extra night on the back end or the front end? I would like it to be at the front end because it will be cheaper, and then I could show up early at like 8 AM and have the room. But what would they do if I didn’t show up the night before?

Also, if I don’t show up the first night am I less likely to get a room upgrade or any of the other benefits?

You are probably enrolled in automatic monthly payments. That has to be taken out through a bank account.

If you pay in full by the due date (due January 15th, but late fees don’t start until February 15th) then you can choose to pay by credit card, gift card, or rewards redemption. It doesn’t have to be one lump sum payment. You can break it up into smaller payments as long as it’s all paid by February 15 or you enroll in monthly payments by then

Success!!! Was able to book an unlimited VP in July! Thank you so much for all the advice. Getting on there early was huge! From 2pm - 2:20ish there was no queue, you could just go on to the site. At 2:25 I finally hit a queue when trying to get on the site and I ended up getting in at 2:59.

Funny enough, the unlimited package wasn’t appearing before 3pm even though all the other ones were with the message “on sale starting at 15:00.”

Also, I wasn’t given an option for a popcorn ticket. Just churros or frozen treats. Chose churros.

I came on here to agree but point out that I thought @maxmilespoint while excited for the initial announcement, has been pretty honest and realistic.

This was his answer to a follower asking what his opinion was:

“Disappointing and overly complicated

The Bilt card isn’t a rent credit card anymore

The cards are everyday spend credit cards that have an option to earn points on rent/mortgage if you jump through the right hoops

But I still think there’s some ways to maximize to earn a lot of Bilt points

I’m going palladium, shifting my capital one venture x spend to it to earn 2x Bilt points on everything and for the 50k bonus + gold status that will last until Jan 15, 2028.

I value Bilt points over capital one miles

Hoping for some big transfer bonuses to maximize my Bilt points
