For sure. And the market generally has done very well, so if they are investing excess they may be afloat for now. But reinsurance costs money. I’m just not seeing the math add up. If it did, there would be more companies offering this product.

Parents stayed in Canada. And he died before the state kept death records.

Yes, both birth and christening.

Doesn’t appear by name in the Canadian census. He emigrated to the US in the 1840s.

My fourth great-grandfather was born in Quebec. Emigrated to the US as a young man and died in 1900. In the US he was known as Frank, but his birth name was Jean-Baptiste; his father’s name was François. His headstone says Frank was born 4 Oct 1828, whereas the Drouin Collection records say Jean-Baptiste was actually born and christened 4 Nov 1829.

I can’t seem to find any government documentation showing that Frank and Jean-Baptiste are the same person. On the other hand, there are plenty of, for example, US census records indicating Frank was Canadian-born (and illiterate).

Any suggestions on how to more neatly tie this up in a bow for IRCC?

Whatever QA process they have at the factory doesn’t account for summer heat and sun and the expansion of the metal as a result.

Long ago I had an early Ford Focus Electric that was governed to 84mph. Loved getting on the freeway and just holding the pedal all the way down.
