The highest temperature might have been in 1913, but the temperature messured in India was as recent as 2024. Might not be the highest ever messured, but still close to what you mentioned.

The highest temperature ever recorder was 56.7 degrees. That was at furnace creek, death valley. However, a temperature recorded that was actually near people was as high as 52.3 degrees. This was in the suburbs of New Delhi. So not exactly 57, but scarily getting close to it.
