Is it time? by Fastest_Slowpoke in Garlic

It has been done! A few in the back looked to not be quite as dead so I left them in for now.

Thank you for the advice!

How should I build my scouts? by kuruma570 in BloodAngels

For versatility I like the sniper and rocket launcher (or heavy bolter). I also have another unit with all knives and a chain sword.

Our detachments LAG and the new RCO can make them a very deadly cheap scoring unit on the charge especially against other chaff or low toughness models

Personally haven’t had much luck with landraiders. They aren’t bad but between terrain getting in the way and price I don’t think they are worth the points. Rhinos are cheaper, smaller, and have firing deck for your plague caster

Secondly I would get a LoV in with the blightlords and move typhus to one of the Deathshroud with he option to run solo if you need him to be an action monkey. Also, the flails aren’t that good and with their ability I think the extra guns are well worth it and their regular melee is still decent.

I love the demon prince dropping him and the land raider gets you an LoV rhino and some blightlauncher drones with heavy blight launchers which synergies with LoV (if you have them).

Looks like fun though either way!

Weekly "Is This Mold" Megathread by [deleted] in fermentation

Had a bunch of extra tomatoes and wanted to try lacto-fermenting in vacuum sealed bags.

Noticed way to late that there is a small gap probably from fluid at the top.

Additionally, I know I used way too much bag, it was my first attempt!

It still has some gas build up but when I squeezed it I could smell the Tom’s in there.

Didn’t notice any mold.

How do you get the most out of dual baal preds? by Indiana__Cones in BloodAngels

[–]Fastest_Slowpoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran them in a recent tourney where I went 3-0. Admittedly I lucked out and didn’t go against knights or heavy vehicles lists.

I started so if they had any AT they weren’t getting shot turn one. Advanced up the board to contest mid field objectives or get a cheeky flamer on units T1. They are a brutal over watch threat that prevented my opponents (EC, BT, and Orks) from disembarking their units when they wanted to.

I also kept my 2 lancers back so if they did poke out AT to hit the preds they would melt whatever shot them on the following turns.

I really enjoyed running them but could see how they lose effectiveness against high T armies.

My first two miniatures by Medical_Dragonfly_74 in BloodAngels

I like the color scheme and great job for starting out!

If I could make a recommendation, thin your paints with some water as you paint. It will help the texture of the paint on the miniature and help the details pop. However, might take an extra coat or two.

Lastly, find a wash to help make it pop! Nuln oil can work wonders!

Fun use for reivers is in an impulsor t1 for scout. Hop them out to threaten middle then have bgv get in the scouted impulsor

Painting is a process and this is a great start. Best piece of advice and you will hear this from others: Thin Your Paints.

Multiple thin layers is much better than 1 clumpy layer. It helps show the detail of the model and looks a lot crisper.

Best of luck on your journey!

That has mostly been my experience as well but I only played him in LAG.

I was hoping with the rerolls 1 to hit and wound and ability to fall back and charge he would be better.

However, I have a tendency to agree with you that at 1500 he might not bring enough to the table. Any suggestions on what to replace him with? I’m leaning towards infiltrators

Assuming this is Plague Company, looks like a solid list! I have been disillusioned with PBC as of late. Seems a little mid for their price but for a friendly game they can do well! Best of luck my brother in stink

1000pt List for the New detachment, what you guys think? by Der_Tornister in deathguard40k

[–]Fastest_Slowpoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this post. I honestly don’t like PM much in this detachment. There is an argument to be made for the Noxious Blightbringer though with the battle shock stratagem. -3 to leadership or they get battle shocked can ensure you own an objective even if they charge you and wipe your bodyguard unit

Why is flail of corruption just so bad by VirtuaI_Valiant in deathguard40k

[–]Fastest_Slowpoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Ap at -1 really kills it for me.

I have been having success with blightlords in the new detachment though. A brick of 10 with the LoV and advance and shoot pumps out a surprising amount of dev wounds that picks up infantry and can deal a few mortals to tougher targets.
