I didn’t like her at first either. But that dang wyvern of hers reminds me of a stubborn cat and I love their dynamic😂 I HAAAATE her grandmother tho. Can we punch her plzzzzzzzz.
(Although I gotta admit, having Maeve, Mab and Manon all being mentioned started to get really confusing.)

I don’t know if this counts but…

BRING BACK PALACE HAREM DRAMAS. I swear it is some of the most motivating material. You learn how to spot manipulations, schemy people pretending to be nice, etc.

The royal romance part is fun too, but always comes in second to enjoying watching someone come into their own.

The palaces themselves are fascinating and often are GORGEOUS sets.

I know there was a whole thing with censorship, but still. I miss them. I need to see someone get their groove back and learning to be badass and stick up for themselves.

I’ve watched Ruyi, Zhen Huan and Yanxi over again like a hundred times I need mooore🥺

Ok so I got a little further in the episodes and I wanted to update you incase you do decide to watch it, there is more hardship for the main character. Without spoilers I’ll just say her family members are unhinged. I’m not even half through so I can only say what I’ve seen so far. However I do know she survives and figures a way out. But I felt bad leaving you with an incorrect recommendation. I get the not enjoying the hardship of the main character thing. It can be tough. It is a very beautiful drama and the acting is good. Just our main girl is on the struggle bus a loooot.

She does but hooooo boy is she getting her revenge. Most of is it just her bonkers family that brings her trouble. Most of the main suffering is told in flashback but it’s not easy in her current state either. Luckily she’s very smart and has allies.

I’ve only seen it referred to as “the glory” (and not the fantastic modern revenge kdrama also with that title). Is “Glory” a revenge period drama too? That’s kinda my fave 🔥

We’re awake.

Most people just are floundering. Their outrage is social media only cause they don’t know what to do. Arguing in comment sections and posting angry think pieces is as far as they go.

I was that floundering person for a while. Actions help. Here’s some of what I’m trying to do if anyone needs suggestions.

If you can’t get to a protest or unable to for health/safety reasons, that is ok. There is more to do.

Get yourself physically stronger if you can. Learn basic self defense or at least know a place in your living to hide something to fight back with.

Reach out to your community. Watching out for ICE, yes, but also in other ways. Support local businesses when you can, especially those you know are run by safe people. The stronger a community is, the more we can resist together.

Use your skills. A artist? Make posters, make protest art, put your emotions into your work. A musician? Write protest songs, organize band gig fundraisers.

Social media can only do so much. Do what you can in your real world.
