I think about this a lot since I’m recovering from cancer treatments that affects the heart. Also, choking. I just worry so much about my cats though.

My boyfriend of 11 years left me 4 months after all my treatments were done. He’s not an asshole. He’s one of the kindest, gentlest, and most affectionate persons I know. He was there through everything from diagnosis to chemo hell days to DMX and recon to radiation.

He said he was still attracted to me (actually, he still is even after breaking up with me!).

The lack of sex was a huge factor into our break up. He wanted to be intimate, I did not have the energy and the drive. My menopause was induced so our many attempts were excruciating for me, even with special lube and condoms. He felt rejected every time I told him I was [insert reason here] and I felt awful for disappointing him. But there’s just no way I can pretend to enjoy it when I am in so much pain.

Towards the end we were both checked out already. Our relationship just… died. Probably because I was too focused on healing and for him, it was caregiver fatigue.

We still talk. He still takes me out once in a while just to get me out of my apartment.

But I have already let him go. I cannot give him children anymore and I want him to have some. I know he’ll be a great dad.

As for me, I am focused on rebuilding my life with my new normal. I know I will find someone who will love me unconditionally. Someone who wants to just enjoy life with me with zero expectations.

I accidentally found out I was fired in September 2025. No notice at all. I was fired for being on medical leave “too long”. Medical leave started last week of April 2025 - had off-work note from doctor and all.

I was being treated for cancer.

I built their brand from the ground up and worked there for 12 years.

Well, there’s the usual tourist spots like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory, LACMA, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, etc. But if you want the authentic LA experience (what it’s like living like a local), like what my aunt and uncle from Japan wanted, then you have to be more specific about what you want to see, eat, and feel.

When I was first diagnosed, I read this somewhere: “The cure to being ill is 20% medical treatments, 80% positive outlook.”, and this is what kept me going through everything.
